Spyro: A Hero's Tail is the final chapter in the original Spyro series of games. This PlayStation 2 game was developed by Eurocom and published by Vivendi Universal. Spyro: A Hero's Tail introduces a new antagonist, Red. Red is an elder dragon that was banished from the world for committing heinous acts against his brothers and sisters. One day, this evil dragon returns to the Dragon Realms and uses his Dark Gems to drain the life energy from the world. He then recruits a dangerous army to enslave the surviving dragons. This army is led by none other than Gnasty Gnorc, the villain of the first game. It's up to Spyro and his friends to once again banish Red from the Dragon Realms.Spyro: A Hero's Tail on the PlayStation 2 plays similar to Spyro titles on other consoles. The game is a combination of the action and platform genres. The tiny dragon retains all of the abilities from the previous games, including his powerful fire-breath attack. He can also glide through the air using his wings. Throughout the course of the game, the hero will learn a host of new abilities. Not only will he learn to breathe electricity and ice, but he will also learn to jump on walls and off poles. The hero is not alone in this title; his friends are also available to help him out. You can play as characters like Sparx the Dragonfly, Blink, Sgt. Byrd, and Hunter. Each character has their own unique play style. For example, the levels with Sparx are linear shooting segments. The levels with Sgt. Byrd all take place in the air as you look to destroy targets on the ground. These gameplay segments are interspersed throughout the normal levels to keep the gameplay fresh. This title features over 20 levels of gameplay. There are a variety of environments to explore, including an icy glacier and a murky swamp. This PS2 game will take most gamers around 15 hours to finish if they want to see and do everything. The title includes a large number of gems as well as a variety of other collectibles for the hero to collect. You'll need to use every skill at your disposable to find all items. Gamers who find every collectible in this title will unlock a special ending to view once the game is over. This title has an all-star cast voicing its characters. Jess Harnell, who is famous for voicing Wakko in Animaniacs, voices the hero. Tara Strong also voices a number of roles. You may recognize her as Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony. This title uses an all-new graphics engine to produce high-quality graphics and a smooth frame rate. It is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB. This rating means that the title is suitable for gamers of all ages.

Love this game and it came in great condition!
I am a huge Spyro fan, so I was excited to find all my childhood favorites on Ebay. This arrived in a timely manner and works just about perfect so far. I have nearly completed it and my hasn't had any issues. There is no pamphlet inside the case, but that's not a problem for me. Everything is in pretty excellent condition. As far as the game goes, I would say this is one of my favorites in the series. Colorful, humorous, not too short, and challenging enough to keep my attention as an adult. It holds up really well, where as other games from my childhood don't. Amazing!
I recently got a ps2 and have been able to relive my childhood by ordering all the spyro games and besides the original trilogy, A hero's tail is one of my favorite games! The gameplay is really good and it's just a really fun game to play especially when you're going for the 100%. It has really cool features and things to do such as play as different characters and things like that. a fun and interesting game, a mothers opioin
Spyro: A Hero's Tail (PS2, 2004) game is a great game. my little girl age 4 is really into all the spyro games. it is fairly easy for a young child to play. with a occasional help from parent. because it has a lot of strategy. i like how he only has to shoot enemy 1 time with flame or electric breath to kill them, makes it easier for my little one than having to beat them up several hits. also like being able to buy things at the store with the jewels. makes collecting jewels more fun. also love how you can explore any world you want in any order you want. spyro can swim a lot in it. makes interesting for kids. i decided to buy it because my daughter would rather make us play so she can watch, and we already beat spyro a new beginning and became bored of her making us play it over and ... Spyros Enter the Dragonfly is also very similar to this game and very good, but a Hero's Tail is just more upgraded graphics and u can go to moneybags store in hero's tail. overall i would recomend this game to anyone. i even enjoy it as a mother and an adult, i really get addicted to it too. the story that goes along with it is good too. also spyro collects eggs to get to play as other dragons (i think). also u collect crystals. there are a lot of new little dragons spyro talks to. my little girl even saw a dragon she thinks is spyros girlfriend. also there is a map for every world that shows where you have & have not explored yet, which i think is an exellent idea. and u can save the game anytime. some of the challenges where you can win eggs and crystals are hard, i have my husband help on hard parts. but a good thing about challenges is you get to play as different characters like sparks, a mole guy that digs, the tiger guy with a bow and arrow, and more. i like this game a lot. i would reccomend it.

Some things in the game can be frustrating such as the character Blink, but the game is great for the most part.

Has some scratches but is 👌..even new ps2's have tendancy to rub against the disk while spinning
Works perfectly fine doesnt freeze...old school with old school graphics which enhances the feel. Glad he had this throwback in stock.
