    Great Book

    I always admired Clemente as a great player and humanitarian. The book was a great overview of his life growing up, as a Pittsburgh Pirate, the issues of playing in the Deep South in the 50's and 60's, his friends, etc. Whether you are a fan of baseball or not, you will enjoy this book. What a shame such a great life was cut short by a crook trying to run a small airplane business who tried to fly a plane that was obviously not flight-worthy.

    Clemente by David Maraniss

    We live in the Pittsburgh, PA area, and saw Roberto Clemente play often while he was alive, with the Pittsburgh Pirates. My husband is a sports "nut" and I bought it as a birthday present for him. I am almost positive I bought it on Half.com, an eBay site which I love and use with great regularity.
