Set in 2020, when America's implication in the assassination of a potential Chinese leader leads to extreme tensions between the U.S., China, and Russia, the single-player campaign puts gamers in charge of Sgt. Daniel Recker and his group of special operatives as they battle through Shanghai, Azerbaijan, and across a listing aircraft carrier in an attempt to prevent WWIII.<br><br>Built using DICE's proprietary Frostbite 3 game engine, Battlefield 4 was designed to capture sights, sounds, and fury of all-out war on land, in the air, and at sea. New amphibious assault missions find gamers battling the high winds and heaving seas as they pilot agile attack boats to combat foes on water and on the shore, while the Levolution system challenges players to adjust to dynamically changing environments that feature battlefield deformation and collapsing buildings. The RTS-like Commander mode returns for Battlefield 4, with gamers gathering intelligence, providing key ammo and vehicle drops to the team, and delivering devastating gunship and missile strikes when needed.<br><br>Multiplayer action remains a key component of the Battlefield experience, with dozens of players competing across a variety of maps in Obliteration mode, where the goal is to grab bombs from the center of the map and use them to destroy the enemy base; Defuse mode, a fast-paced game of attack and defense; and Domination mode, a close-quarters game that requires a mix of strategy and action. Gamers can use the Battlelog to challenge friends to contests and to see how they compare to competitors from around the globe, and the Battlelog can also be accessed from tablets and mobile devices.

    Love this game! Recommend buying it for next gen consoles or PCs though.

    While the campaign is fun, the Battlefield 4 multiplayer is really where this game shines. 12 vs. 12 + 2 commanders (new feature in this game!!) makes for crazy action on the 360. I have yet to upgrade to the Xbox One - that being said I would recommend you buy this game for next gen consoles or PC if you have them. The graphics and game play feel a little rushed on the 360 as I'm sure Dice focused more of their attention to the PC and Next Gen consoles. On the 360 though, there are some lag and crash errors here and there, and some of the textures can take up to 30 seconds to load in the beginning of matches. But as you continue to play the game smooths out making it possible to get lost in the epic destruction that Battlefield truly does offer. 4/5

    Please read me

    We ordered this for my son's birthday, it arrived perfectly on his birthday, great! Then he goes to play it....... and could NOT because it requires an extra hard drive .😭 so we ordered the external hard drive and maybe next week we can tell you how the game truly is .

    A great game that is hurt badly by a glitch

    Battlefield is greatness at its best. I hadn't really played any other Battlefield titles, but this one is as great as advertised. Only ONE problem: the glitch on the scaffolding level. I can't get past it to save my life, and so it has ruined my experience. I can't tell you anything about the multi-player because I sold this game along with my Xbox 360 and now have an Xbox One. If you can figure out how to get past the glitch, you are in for a treat, I'm sure. Google search and try different ways to jump unto the ladder. Good luck everyone.
