Great Popper
Stainless is the way to go with stovetop poppers. Easy to use, easy to clean, lid fits and stays in place. These features are much better than aluminum versions. Best of all, it makes great popcorn!

Great Northern Popcorn Stainless Popcorn Popper
I purchased this to replace a worn out aluminum Whirley-Pop Popcorn Popper. The fit and finish is not up to par as the lid can not be reinstalled after cleaning without considerable effort. Once you finally get it to align properly either one side or the other will not latch. The popper takes a lot longer to heat up with the thicker bottom and if I set the the temperature any more than medium the bottom distorts and does not sit flat on my glass top stove.I purchased this to replace a worn out aluminum Whirley-Pop Popcorn Popper. Super Popcorn Popper!
I had the aluminum style one for many years and wanted to get away from using aluminum. This is one of the BEST purchases I have made recently and absolutely LOVE it! I can't recommend it enough! You WON'T be disappointed. It pops the corn beautifully and doesn't overflow like my old one did and cleans up easy and quickly. It is a FABULOUS machine, built strong and sturdy...a must have for popcorn lovers!!!I had the aluminum style one for many years and wanted to get away from using aluminum. This is one of the BEST purchases I have made recently and absolutely LOVE it! I can't recommend it enough! You WON'T be disappointed. Absolutely the Best Way to Go!
I have been making popcorn all my life (in my 60's now) and this is absolutely the best popcorn maker I have ever used! Period! Beyond compare. It is like using a speed demon and the popping experience is over so fast it seems like you missed it. It almost always pops every single kernel in it. (I have an electric range the setting is 8 on the large burner - use about 3/4 cup popcorn. Keep your purchased sealed bag of popcorn in the freezer. Further, only use virgin coconut oil - i like the cold squeezed coconut oil with the natural flavour left in because it comes out tasting like the butter is on it already...and it is the best popcorn oil and it is healthy for the body to boot! Don't put your popcorn in until the oil is hot, and then just snap the side lid closed and slowly turn the ... Do not melt butter in this popper or use other oils as they will spoil the heating surface. Further, if you are using coconut oil, you can simply use a dry paper towel to wipe out the interior and you can then put the popper away until the next time. This popper is well constructed, however, since it comes apart, it takes a bit of experimentation at first in putting the lid back on the popper pan, but it's simple and easy once you figure it out. If one of the new pans door lids isn't latching firmly enough, just open it and bend the catch downward a little and it will then snap firmly into place. Used as I've described, there's no reason, unless you burn your popcorn leaving some chard popcorn remaining stuck to the bottom, to wash the pan. Coconut oil is reported to be anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-fungal, and even anti-viral, yet is a food that is reported to be highly healthy to both the exterior and interior of the body and very heart friendly, and also is reported to help over weight people loose weight, yet poses no weight-loss threat to thin people. Color me very very happy with this popper and wouldn't trade it for anything else. I hope this sheds some light on how good this popper is and how to get the best performance out of it. :)

Glad we bought it!
Pros: better than the aluminum type we had previous to this one. This one is heavier and taller, it seems, giving the kernels more room to pop up big. The lid attaches and closes very securely. The pot is easy to operate and it is designed to keep the kernels moving inside the pan. So glad we chose this one !
