    Little Mommy

    At the age of 2 my baby sister had heard this book read to her so many times it appeared she was reading it as she turned the pages and "read" it to us...she is now 48 years old and I purchased this book for my 2 year old granddaughter. Hoping she has the same special memories from this book that my sister and I have... thanks!

    Little Mommy -- A Favorite Little Golden Book !

    This book was first published in the 1960's and my daughter, at 2 1/2 years old, had the book memorized. I understand that this was the case in a lot of families. It's a charming story of a little girl and her dolls: Annabelle, Betsy, and Bonnie. Sharon Kane has done a wonderful job of writing and illustrating. The older versions of this book are in demand and copies in good condition are pricey. However, the book was printed again in 2008 with a different cover and lots of other little girls will now get to enjoy this favorite. I bought 3 copies this time and will likely be buying more.

    Not Sexist

    I loved reading this to my children but was surprised to hear years later it was one of their favorites as well. My daughters grew up to be confident and capable women even though many of the comments regarding this book claim it is sexist and should never be read to children today. I disagree with those comments. I do not believe that it is wrong to portray a young girl being wholeheartedly absorbed in the important tasks of caring for her dollies and their household. She is working hard, being conscientious, and enjoy the time with her dollies. I would suggest that one enjoy the book and then end it by asking your children what important jobs this 'little mommy' has outside of the home when her dollies get older.

    Adorable book

    Love this book. I had this book when I was a kid. Brought back memories. This book would inspire little girls to want to grow up to be good mommies, learn to cook and take care of their home.

    Adorable book for an adorable child mommy

    Arrived quickly and in excellent condition. Story is very nicely written for a child. Perfect for my adorable granddaughter who has always loved playing "mommy".
