Works Well
I've caught hundreds of squirrels with 4 of these traps. They are durable except when I accidentally ran one over with my truck, but even that was repairable. Never found one full of squirrels like the pictures, but I've had 2 or 3 at a time on occasion. I don't bother with latching it open for a few days to get the squirrels used to it. In most cases, I just bait it and the squirrels come. Plain oats are a good cheap bait for ground squirrels. I put some piles inside and sprinkle a few outside leading up to the entrance, and more right where the door lifts up so they will push against it and accidentally discover they can lift it and get inside. You need to place it on concrete or put a board under it or they will dig under to get the bait. If the squirrels are too stupid or too ... I've caught hundreds of squirrels with 4 of these traps. If the squirrels are too stupid or too smart to get in the trap, then latch the doors open for a few days so they can get used to the easy meal and they will go back in when you put the doors down. Put some bricks or something on top so they don't push it around, and so skunks, raccoons, etc., don't push it around. I've caught a few skunks. If you want to let them go, leave the large door on top unlatched with a brick on it. You can knock the brick off with a long stick to let the skunk out. A few squirrels have learned to get out, so I'll have to get a different trap for those. My only complaint is there is nothing to keep the door closed once a squirrel goes through but the squirrel being too stupid to lift it up. That does allow multiple catches, but the occasional one will escape. I got some drowning tubs, but that proved to be too much hassle when I'm catching hundreds of squirrels. A bb gun is a lot easier. If your squirrels are too wary, put a couple small logs alongside, pine cones on top, etc., to make the area look more natural.

One squirrel per hour
If you are able to be at home when you use this you can count on catching approximately 1 squirrel per hour. Once one gets inside the others see it freak out so they don’t go in. (At least with eastern grey squirrels) so every hour I go out and dispatch the squirrel, scatter some fresh bird seed and wait for the next one. I have twelve squirrels in two days with it out for about 5-6 hours each day! No need to move it. They don’t realize what happened and go right on in. I use bird seed with peanuts in it and scatter some right in the center where they can’t reach it. I usually stake it down too so they don’t move the trap but it’s frozen out now and I cannot stake it. So far it still works fine! Squirrelinator, Don't waste your money!
When the cage arrived, I was so excited. I threw a couple of peanuts in the shell outside the door entrance and the rest inside the trap. I was home so I kept an eye on the trap and before you knew it I had trapped my first squirrel. When a reset the trap the next time and baited it the exact same way,the results were not the same. I wondered what was different and then I remembered. I set the trap and had to go to work. I came home that evening expecting to have another squirrel or two, but no squirrels and all that was left in the bottom the trap was empty peanut hulls. I wondered how they got out so I reset the trap and this time I watched to see what happened. After a couple of hours, another squirrel was in the trap but I just waited to see what happened next. So I do not recommend this trap, it's pricey and unless you can sit by the trap and shut the transport door flaps right away, the squirrels are going to keep getting out. Not worth the hassle, buy a different trap that the squirrels can't get out of.

Total Waste Of Money
Not only was the money I spent on the trap a waste, but all the "bait" I've used too. I've had the trap for a month or more, baiting it every day according to the directions on the box, and I have caught ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. The ground squirrels use it for a lookout station & eat all the grain, etc. around the outside while the tiny birds fly in and out, eating the grains on the inside of the trap. Why? I've moved it to different locals on the property, tried different baits, can't think of what else to do. The squirrels are running rampant, none wanting to stop by and stay awhile! Waitnin' for the Squirrel-inatin' to Start
Good quality construction, easy to use, virtually fool-proof. Little furry bstrds won't go near it. May try different bait, but would have thought at least one stupid one would go for dried ears of corn!!
