Hollywood Hoofbeats
A very well written book about the Hollywood Horses of past and present. I really enjoy reading about their past (especially the rags to riches - cart horse to Hollywood Legend)lives and how they enriched their owners careers to the point that they watched over them until the end. A "must read" for any horse lover - this is a book that will touch your heart. It also has very wonderful original photos of all our favorite stars (mine was the Silver horse that owned the Lone Ranger).A very well written book about the Hollywood Horses of past and present. It's a great book. I keep mine out on the coffee table for my friends to see.
This is a very unusual book. I don't know of another book on the subject of movie horses. I mostly look at the horses when I watch movies or tv westerns, I even remember movies by the horses in them. They are Gods most, no, only noble animals. This book is a good tribute to them.

Great book is you like horses Very interesting and fun
I show and train horses and I thought this book would be interesting. It talks about how horses have been treated in the hollywood scene. The horses where just as much apart of the scene as the cowboy was. You could say both were stars. Both cowboy star and horse were a team. It also talked about who supplied the horses for the movies and the trainers who trained them as well. At the begining of the book it talked about earlier tactics that were used on the horses for scenes. To say the least it was abuse and some horses lost theres lives over the stunts being done. With time the humane society got involved and has been trying to make a difference in the way animals are treated in hollywood. Great book and alot of fun to read.
