    Old but still a decent camera

    I have three of these plus lots of 5700 accessories - too much to upgrade right now to something newer. Not one of Nikon's best but inexpensive and small enough to carry around. Most phones take better pictures but my phone is an iPhone 6 and it won't pass pictures or anything else back to my Windows PC easily. CF memory chips are inexpensive and hold lots of pictures that my PC can access without any problems. 5 megapixels is not very dense in this day and age but the picture quality is still very good for my needs.

    Nikon Coolpix 5700

    This camera came on the market in 2002 and had a lot of great features for it's time period. It was one of the first bridge cameras between compact and SLR and shoots photos in RAW, TIFF and JPEG. The camera shoots excellent macros and the auto function shoots perfect every time. Even by today's features and standards it still is a very viable camera to use for everyday shooting.

    Coolpix 5700 Good for an old dinosaur

    In comparison to most of the Nikons or even other digital cameras, the coolpix 5700 is a dinosaur. However, it has great features that keep it afloat. For instance, it does take crisp pictures with its 5 mega pixel standard. It allows you to control the flash settings and the size of the image input. The ISO has a range of 100 to 800 and can be set to either manual or auto. Although the display is smaller than I like, it still has a unique feature where you can angle it to your liking. You can also close it to avoid dust. A feature I needed in dusty Africa. There are a host of other features consistent with today's standards. It's main limitations are video recording..which only allows 60 secs worth due to the small storage capacity of up to 1gb compact flash. The battery ...

    good for basic shoots

    had on of these cameras for many years,and wanted a replacement of the same as i have lot of extra bits to suit, not the most up to spec ,but still takes excellent pics and easy to use

    What a GREAT Little Performer!

    Only had it a week but what a GREAT little performer!! It has an automatic focus feature so your pix come out looking almost perfect! Color is bright and sharp. Camera is easy to use and easy to hold--feels real good and balanced in the hand. Zoom feature is amazing. I've been having fun getting the "whole picture" and then zooming in on just one aspect of the scene--both shots come out looking great! Impressive! Here's the best compliment I can give: on my way to work at our local newspaper (I am NOT a reporter or photographer! I am the CLERK) on a very, snowy, stormy, winter's day, I had to stop because a semi was jacknifed across the whole highway! In the midst of the storm, I got out of my vehicle, took a few steps toward the truck, used the zoom feature and ...
