Don't get those other off-brand Gamecube adapters that are a little cheaper but have input lag and flimsy hardware. As someone who has tried both, just spend the little bit extra and get this one. Works great. No need to spend big on the official Nintendo brand one.

its not Official, but its good.
It's fairly solid. It does what it should, and does it well. Also, this may only on mine, but for some reason, it only works in port 2. I don't get why, but hey, at least it works. Also, if you're trying to use this on PC, it doesnt work. It loads in, but gives an error (at least on Win. 10). It does work on Wii U though, but not in Wii mode, so its only good for Smash 4, but hey, isn't that the reason you're buying this anyway? it is a knockoff, and not at all licenced by Nintendo, but eh, my GC controller is probably a knockoff too, and you dont see ME complaining. anyways, to sum this up, its a good price (no, really, have you seen the prices for OFFICIAL ones? sweet Arceus, i coulld by at LEAST 5 Batyonetta DLCs for both versions with that) for a GCCA and its worth the money. jsut ... Feels cheap, but there's no input delay, and rumble works perfectly. Works flawlessly on Linux, and nearly flawlessly on Windows 10.
I've tried this adapter on both Linux (Kernel 5.4.34) and Windows 10, and while it works perfectly out of the box on Linux (Both PC mode, and Wii U mode with Dolphin), there's one small issue with it on Windows 10. While PC mode works fine on Windows 10, Wii U mode doesn't work out of the box. This can be fixed using Zadig to install the proper driver, following the documentation from Dolphin Wiki (Just Google search "how-use-official-gc-controller-adapter-wii-u Windows" without quotes, and go to the dolphin-emu website). Once this is done, Wii U mode works flawlessly on Windows 10, and should work similarly on any Windows version that still supports the Dolphin emulator. The only other thing you should do is set proper deadzones, as the adapter won't do this for you, and even good ... On Windows, this can easily be done from the configuration panel, by navigating to Hardware and Sound, then to Devices and Printers (With the adapter and controller plugged in, set to PC mode), then right click on the controller, and click on Game controller settings. From here, click properties, and in the settings tab, click the calibrate button. The rest is handled by a very self explanatory setup wizard. All in all, this is absolutely perfect if you want a good controller for your PC, but don't want to buy something cheap and nasty, or expensive. Using a Gamecube controller with Dolphin to play Kirby Air Ride felt exactly as I remembered the game feeling on the original hardware, minus the increased resolution, and widescreen. This is absolutely worth it if you have a Gamecube controller, and it's worth buying a second hand controller with this if you don't have one. Overall, buy it, just buy it.

Simply does not work
Bought the adapter a few days ago and got it last night, looks like a poor-quality plastic adapter, but I was reserving judgment until I saw performance. It came in a box with absolutely no brand name of any sort. Made in China obviously. It works fine for me in the menus, but strangely during gameplay only some of the buttons work, and the joystick doesn't work, so your character is stuck standing there. This obviously renders the adapter useless. I fidgeted around plugging the USBs into the different Wii U slots, but always got the same results. Works perfectly!
Arrived promptly and in good condition. Played Super Smash Bros for Wii U using it with my girlfriend the other day, controls are responsive and it's easy to set up. Definitely recommended.
