Not TYPICALLY Just Your Around The Neighborhood BATS
Even Bats can be menacing at times. That's why they send in a special ops team in to track down and capture an evil scientist who has turned the bats into bloodsucking, flesh-eating vampires. Although, at times it gets confusing about who are the bad guys and good guys, the movie seems to stay on tracking. The bat scene swarms are well crafted and the up-close shots of the bats sometime even made me feel warm and fuzzy inside because they are so cute. There is quite of bit of action in military scenarios with a great deal of shooting and killing. Lots of blood and explosions. Good acting overall. I just wished the movie had started off more fast-paced. The irony of it all is that, with all the fire-power of our military, it would seem that a few million or so bats would be NO ... And "Bats Human Harvest" is a DTV "sequel" filmed in some part of East Europe on a shoestring budget attempting to ride the coat tails of an established film that was made some 8 years prior (and at that didn't get much recognition). So if you go in expecting anything different you're fooling yourself. I am an admitted fan of the first "Bats". I saw it in theaters as a kid and as an adult I can still appreciate it for it's shameless B movie antics. "Bats" was aware of itself; all is forgiven. That sense of awareness is lost for "Human Harvest" and the film takes itself seriously; one degree of seriosness is one too many for this type of film. Thus is the curse of in name only sequels, often the title is stamped on just to cash in on what fanbase the original had. How the apple fell far ... We're plagued with the same issues of recent Sony Home Entertainment titles. Chechyan militants in ski masks, East European actors speaking terrible english, a heavy use of mediocre CGI effects to replace entire shots, and utterly painful acting. Sony probably sports the motto "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I strongly suggest someone translate to their heads that something is broke. The plot, bats and a mad scientist aside, has no connection to the first. Strike one. The dialogue is terrible and implausible. "You're Delta, act like it." Can you picture an elite Delta Force commando saying that in the heat of battle? Nor can I. Strike two. The bats are entire CGI swarms of undefined blackness. There are a few decent scenes of an individual bat in order to showcase the beast, but unlike the first where we had a mix of animatronic, real, and CGI here we have gone hogwild on the computer effects. Strike three for me. I just didn't dig this one. I can't say it was bad, it maybe a decent time killer in all honesty. But the East Euro film craze has got to end unless they can do it with quality. The cast was a terror, the bats were just flaps of black, and I can't look people in the eyes and dare encourage them to watch it. Sorry folks, but stick with the original. Atleast there are some good scares and self-referential humor involved.

Shipped and arrived fast. Seller was great! The movie was horrible though! I like the weird, smaller, creature type movies usually. But this one was a huge miss! I really enjoyed the first one. The quality was bad on top of the story lacking any entertainment.

Just not an entertaining movie. Title is somewhat misleading.
Better story and acting. It's a military movie with a stupid plot.
