Commando (Blu-Ray)
Ridiculous but fun film with Arnold Schwarzenegger as a retired special agent being pulled back into action when his daughter (well played by Alyssa Milano) is kidnapped. To get her back he has to kill someone else. An 80s action film all the way. It's full of noisy battles, tons of gun play, loads of fistfights and a grand total of EIGHTY-ONE bloody on-screen deaths! The film works so well because it has a good, strong sense of humor and never takes itself seriously. It makes all the blood and gore seem cartoonish. The plot barrels also full speed and it's very short (88 min). Also Rae Dawn Chong (whatever happened to...?) is very good in a supporting role. This movie is well worth seeing--lots of fun if you don't mind mindless, violent films (like me). Gotta love any film where Chong ... Commando Director's Cut Film Arena® Steelbook
I am a huge fan of Commando, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Steelbooks, so this release is perfect! This is actually one of my favorite Steelbooks I've ever purchased! Contains the long-awaited Director's Cut of the Movie and does indeed have extended/deleted scenes added right back into the main feature. And it's way better than I thought it'd be, sometimes when these scenes are added back in to the movie, the quality drops when the new scenes come in. But this is fantastical high definition all the way through! The extended scenes don't add much more to the plot but I really appreciated seeing them. You get a little more exposition on Matrix's backstory with his daughter, her mother and his involvement with the Special Forces. You also get a bit more violence and gore in the end scene when he ... I am a huge fan of Commando, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Steelbooks, so this release is perfect! It's going to cost at least double now than what it sold for at retail but if you're a huge Commando/Arnie/Steelbook fan, this is definitely one to own! HIGH, HIGH recommend! Get it while you can!

One of my all-time favorite action films
Commando - One of my all-time favorite action films Seriously folks, this might be the dumbest action movie ever made, I'm not joking around, it's that bad. And that's why I love it. I love everything about this movie; the kidnapped daughter, the 300 kills, the one man taking on an entire army, and the tool shed scene. This movie proved that Arnold Swarzenegger is the 2nd baddest man on the planet (Chuck Norris is obviously first). Commando rocks, not because it features a great story or amazing acting, but because it's braindead action that will actually cause your head to explode if you try too hard to think about it. Final Verdict: 5/5 Rent or buy?: If you love action you will love Commando, no ifs, ands, or buts. IF YOU FIND THIS REVIEW ... This is a must have film for Arnold fans. I hadn't watched it since the VHS days and I enjoyed it much more now then I did in the '80s.
I am a stickler for getting Blu-rays with the original poster/box art on the packaging. Sometimes, studios will do some dumb, digital mock-up of the movie poster. There are alternate versions of the Commando Blu-ray. This is exactly what I wanted. The price was great and as far as I can tell, the movie is out of print so, win/win!
