Based on Ron Howard's cinematic interpretation of Dan Brown's bestselling novel, this video game version of The Da Vinci Code is designed to let players experience the twisting mystery story first-hand, and to explore locations and clues not featured in the original source material. Players guide lead characters Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu to uncover secrets and speculations as old as Christianity itself.<br><br>Appropriately perhaps, the game is in the basic form of a classic mystery adventure, compete with clickable crime scenes and tricky inventory puzzles. The point-and-click pondering is punctuated with action sequences, however, in which the heroes can use stealth and surprise to take down opponents. The Da Vinci Code was developed by The Collective, known for previous license-based games such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb, and Marc Ecko's Getting Up.

The basic premise of the Da Vinci Code PC game is faithful to the novel, with Robert Langdon and Sophie Nueve trying to find the elusive Holy Grail, by searching for clues, deciphering codes, solving puzzles and interpreting symbols, and at the same time defend themselves, and escape danger by eluding Silas the Monk and the French Police. The PC game is an expanded realm that adds challenges and mystery by solving new puzzles, anagrams and hidden clues, and exploring new 3 dimensional locations to try to uncover hidden treasures protected by a Secret Society. The detailed 3 dimensional environments are surprisingly interesting, including the sprawling galleries of the Louvre Museum, the towering ceilings of the Church of Saint-Sulpice, the stately rooms of Sir Teabings’ manor and the ... Despite some patchiness in the game play, players generally find the storyline strong and the puzzles engaging. However, there have been many instances that this program was not compatible with earlier model computers, specifically due to incompatibility with the graphics card, and many owners of Dell computers have had trouble with never being able to install the game at all. So, it would be good to check to make sure your graphics card is compatible with this specific program before actually purchasing it.

Da Vinci Code PC Game
The game contains excellent graphics. The story line stays true to the book. Some of the puzzles are difficult to accomplish. Save points are far between and if you do not complete said tasks, you lose all you have worked for from the beginning of that 'chapter'. Overall, I rate the game a 4 out of 5.

fun game I was actually trying to get the "Da Vinci SECRET" but that was my mistake- but this game is fun too

could not get it to work on my PC
I really wanted this game, but it will not work on my computer. I will wait until I try loading it on my laptop - maybe it will work on that.
