Don't be fooled by the title
The title of this book has an almost submissive touch to it. The book is nothing about being submissive. It is all about letting your man be the man, if he is capable of course. I have been single for many years and had past relationships with men who were incapable of taking care of business. I have recently married a man who is all man and very capable of running a household. It has been hard for me to let go of the control, that I've had to carry, as the main bread winner, and the only responsible person in the home. My wonderful new Husband is very responsible and much better at finances than I am. I was holding on to this control thing that I don't need to have any more. I am still early in the book and I am putting into practice what I've learned in the first few chapters. ... The title of this book has an almost submissive touch to it. Every girl needs a copy before they get married!
I'm so glad I found this book. I'm a total control freak and want to do all I can to change those not-so-cool habits. I love the things this book had to say and the advice it gave on helping me to change so that my marriage can grow. I'm married to my best friend and am so lucky to be with one of "the good guys". I want to do all I can to make our life together better every day. I learned about so many (negative) things I've been doing that I didn't even know I was...things that were inhibiting intimacy in my marriage. I'm so grateful to the author for writing such a helpful book for those of us who are aware of our faults and want to change them to be better wives. In the past couple of weeks, I've already begun to see a positive change in my marriage. I look forward to it getting better ... I'm so glad I found this book. I'm a total control freak and want to do all I can to change those not-so-cool habits. This book helped my perspective!
I enjoyed reading this book although I did not agree with her views on pornography. I can see how some women might misunderstand some things and maybe take it too far, however, this book has caused me to think about how and why I behave the way I do. In this day and time, it is almost crazy for anyone to mention "respecting" their husbands. I applaud her for being bold enough to say that men deserve to be respected, if for no other reason than just because they are human beings, too. (I am writing from a non-abusive relationship perspective.) I plan on reading this book a second time.I enjoyed reading this book although I did not agree with her views on pornography. Changed my life instantly
If you are a controller like I am this is the book for you. Even if you think you are not a controller this book makes you instantly aware of whether you are or not and gives you precise instructions how to change your ways. I am totally hooked to Laura Doyle's books.
