    Lightweight but works if you work it.

    I first bought this book in 1985 to help me juggle housework, kids schedules, my husband schedule and my schedules which all made me feel torn into pieces and overwhelmed to the max. And having a new baby just added to the mix. I jumped on the bandwagon after hearing the two authors on Vicki Lawrence's tv show. After following thier system for 2 weeks I was back in control of my homemaking and my crazy life and I stayed in control until my last child left home. Then I started to slip a little until now and I wanted to get back to having my home clean and free of clutter again, but over the years I lost track of my book and want to start again.     Is chaos crashing your home?

    Sidetracked Home Executives or SHE's are people who for whatever reason can't "get it together". People who go to the laundry room to fold clothes and before they know it they have begun to sort through all the odd socks instead. All of the sudden it's time for the kids to be home from school and all that's accomplished is a pile of odd socks strewn all over the dining room table. This book tells you the story of Pam and Peggy (sisters) and how they figured out how to "get it together". They show you step by step how they did it using a 3x5 card system. This book is excellent but it is not for the person who gets all excited and wants to do everything all at once and then burns out a week later.     Young or old, it's never too late get organized or re-organized! Love it!

    This is a great organizational tool! I used the system 20+ years ago when I had little ones to raise and was working full-time at an outside job. It helped me so much to stay on track in the little bits of time that I had and I never felt overwhelmed. I kept up with it so much that I no longer needed to use the reminders. But fast-forward to present day, I'm a housewife who is beginning to see signs of forgetfulness and I tend to involve myself with too many projects that cause me to get sidetracked. So, once again, I needed to have my faithful tool (Sidetracked Home Executives) to help me get back on track with organizing my life.     I checked this book out of the library about 40 years ago. I loved it. It changed my life. It set me free. I wanted to own it so I could revisit this "motivational moment" in my life and share it with sister women.

    Sidetracked Home Executives

    This book is a delightful book about how to set up an organizational system to help you maintain your home. It gives you a view from the perspective of two women with a family who were totally disorganized and how they came upon a system to help them get out of the mess that their homes were in. It is not a book written by people who are already organized and know exactly how to have everything in place at all times. It is for those of us who need a little support from others that do not have perfect homes where everything is in its place at all times and it doesn't look like anyone lives in the house.
