Notes
Original soundtrack to the 2009 film from director Richard Curtis (Four Weddings & a Funeral, Notting Hill, Love Actually). The film was released overseas under the title the Boat That Rocked. Bringing together some of Curtis' favorite songs, this soundtrack is truly integral to the movie. It features some of the greatest songs from the '60s and '70s, as well as the odd gem from the '80s. a new version of "Stay with Me Baby" performed by Duffy, meanwhile, provides the backdrop to one of the film's most poignant moments. Includes cuts from the Kinks, the Turtles, the Beach Boys, Herb Alpert, David Bowie, the Who, the Moody Blues, the Isley Brothers and many others. 32 tracks.

Nice seller, all good, thanks. BUT, as usual with this seller, and as they clearly state – the picture is NOT of the exact item. I buy from them only when it (edition/cover) does not matter to me. I believe eBay feedback rating for description is only re. the condition, so I gave 5 stars; otherwise I would give less because of stock photo "for illustrative purposes only".

    the movie was stupid, but the soundtrack rocks!

    you: baby boomer/sixties child/hippy! this cd: perfect. two cds packed with great music. slip it in, light one up, and turn it up to 11. it starts with a current song by duffy, which is an anachronism, BUT works well, because it serves as a signpost, a milemarker, a place in time. you are here now, what comes happened long ago. because from there on, it's pure 60's rock and roll. (with a sprinkling of soul) kinks, the who, the beach boys, jeff beck, the hollies. right on! two hours later, and the whole thing ends with another modern signpost, the sixties are over. rock and roll is dead. david bowie killed it by giving it hips and a disco beat. the cd ends with let's dance, from the 80's. it brings you back to the now, man. go put some visine in your eyes, your parents are home.

    Fine quality soundtrack, great listening.

    I am sure the cost of having the Stone and Beatles represented on this excellent movie and soundtrack would have been over the top but those are primarily the only artist I miss on this soundtrack. The quality is excellent and it is a real treat to time travel back to when I was a teenager and the music was not de-constructed and basically tuneless as many songs are today (yes, I sound old and crabby).

    Soundtrack for the late 1960's!!

    Loved the movie & had to get the soundtrack because it had so many songs from my high school years that I had forgotten. A feel good album in every way.

    Pirate Radio CDs

    I always knew when this movie came out I would purchase the sound track if I ever came across it. Lots of great songs were played in the movie and all have been put together on this 2 disc set. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that enjoys 60s music!

    Great Music!

    This is one of my favorite movies having grown up during this period. Anyone who has seen the movie really needs to purchase this sound track. You won't be disappointed! The only problem you will have is keeping your feet from dancing!
