I LOVE THIS BOOK!!
I checked this book out of the public library along with several other books on the subject. By far, this was the very best. I also checked out the DVD version of the book. This book has changed my life. I strongly recommend it for anyone who feels that one has to be a "born" organizer in order to have a peaceful and orderly environment. That simply is not true. You can LEARN to be organized with Julie Morgenstern's help. Julie teaches her readers that organization can be a wonderful and enjoyable journey. It is not discouraging because she helps you to undertand how much time each project will take. Much can be gleaned from this book even for those to whom organization comes easier. If you have read other organizing books and you are still NOT ORGANIZED, you should read this book! It teaches you how to organize YOUR life in YOUR style and not just tips to do things that do not fit your habits. For example, if you always throw your dirty clothes at the bottom of your bed.... put a LAUNDRY BASKET THERE... not somewhere where you'll never use it! Following the advice in this book is as simple as going to Kindergarten. BUT... make sure you read the first two sections before you jump into the nitty-gritty in the back. If you skip the first two sections, you will not get nearly as much out of it.If you have read other organizing books and you are still NOT ORGANIZED, you should read this book! It teaches you how to organize YOUR life in YOUR style and not just tips to do things that do not fit your habits. The book has very good hints on the psychology of getting organized.
I have hints about what I should do to get organized. It book will details how to best handle other people, and not offend people when you organize.
