Translucent Xenomorph Warrior Aliens 1/4 Scale Neca Figure
The new 1/4 scale Alien figure is a real beauty! I also have the Big Chap Alien and Aliens figures in 1/4 scale, but the details of this figure are extremely enhanced in this translucent color scheme! The packaging is similar to the Big Chap version and has average durability, but having such a large window does lead to unintended vulnerabilities. So be careful. Unless you intend to take it out of the box anyways. Then it doesn't matter. I tend to preserve my collection, so package integrity is important to me. The box presentation is excellent! The view of the Alien figure is terrific! The only drawback about any of the 1/4 scale Alien figures that I know of, from videos, is attaching the tubes on the back. Heating the accessories with warm water is supposed to make this easier. Overall, ... The new 1/4 scale Alien figure is a real beauty! Fantastic piece that still holds up
This 2008 version of the Big Chap from NECA has some amazing details. Personally I enjoy this head sculpt more than the newer 1/4 scale figures as it has more chrome teeth and a more aggressive look. The underside of the skull is painted with details as opposed to sculpted. In my eyes this is an added benefit I actually enjoy but many seem to not like. This figure was advertised as 18'' but rest assured when posed standing up it's every bit of 22'' and is to scale with the other 1/4 scale figures. The leg joints pivot at the hips in a slanted cut which does make for awkward posing and takes away some value as the lines and detailed become noticeably off center. This is a long decommissioned piece that will only rise in value and fall in availability. Especially in tact pieces. If ... This 2008 version of the Big Chap from NECA has some amazing details. If you can find one for a reasonable price you will absolutely be happy with it and it's a piece that will hold its value well into the future until the Hot Toys which are notorious for deteriorating.
