GEORGE HARRISON CONCERT FOR BANGLADESH
As a fan of TRUE ROCK Music for decades now & since I first heard this concert on vinyl, I always knew that this particular Live Concert was indeed the cream of the crop. The lineup was stunning (still hasn't been a better lineup-ever) & the individual performances were amazing at the Least! Even Ringo flubbing his lines on probably his most famous song that he ever sung was epic! And to top it off, the proceeds were going to (& eventually went to) an extremely needy cause. That a bunch of 'drug-crazed Hippies' could do this truly shocked & changed many 'closed-minded' people's additude & hopefully made THEM look in the mirror a bit longer than usual. This is truly & simply the absolute finest live concert ever recorded. If you don't have this in your music collection, you don't have ... Mr. Harrison
I saw this Concert in a Movie Theater when it came out in 1970 for 75 cents..... This made Mr. Harrison ( RIP ) my Favorite Beatles.... Even though most of the Other Performers in the Concert were well established in their Own Write... I loved the New Sounds as well.... Ringo's Stuff made him my 2nd Beatle....Jessie Ed Davis... Bob Dylan.... Bad Finger... Leon Russel... Eric Clapton all put on a Great Show.....I saw this Concert in a Movie Theater when it came out in 1970 for 75 cents..... A classic and a divine effort
This may have been the first big "relief" concert, at least it's the first one I remember. Even though I really am not into the Eastern music, I still give this album top ratings because there is so much feeling throughout, and a definite sense that these people were truly there for this divine cause, and giving it all they had. I think George Harrison was a good soul, and it comes out so loud and clear on this effort. I love to hear him sing "Bangladesh" and "Beware of Darkness" on this. It's almost like you can truly feel pain coming through in his voice.This may have been the first big "relief" concert, at least it's the first one I remember. Excellent benefit concert. Worth owning. AAAAA+++++
This was the first benefit concert of our times. It features, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Leon Russell, Billy Preston, and a number of other notiblews of the day. I was at this concert and it was imazing beyond belief. The footage shot for this program is very well done and makes you feel as it you are a part of the experience. It is a must have for any collection.
