The acting here is top notch with everyone involved, including Affleck himself delivering some awesome performances. The dynamic between Affleck and Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston is perfect creating a duo that both entertain as well as keep this story on track. The biggest treat in this movie are brilliant and a lot of time funny performances from John Goodman and Alan Arkin. These guys really bring all the Hollywood aspect to the movie to life while delivering Oscar worthy performances that will hopefully be recognized. The gritty look to this movie really helps to capture the vibe and tone of the movie while combined with the attention to detail, helps take you into the time period it takes place. Brilliant directing, acting, story and some fun sci-fi references throughout takes ... Well worth your while
It's always taking a chance ordering a DVD that you haven't previously viewed from Redbox or Netflix. I took the plunge on this one and was very pleased with what I got. It's a nail-biter. I don't know how the producer got as many Muslims to act as there were, but they are there, shouting the usual "Allah"--whoever that is. It's a true story about how this guy whisked these six Americans out from under the nose of the Iranians during the hostage crisis...about the only positive thing our government managed to accomplish regarding that. Do yourself a favor and get this one. I promise you, you won't go to sleep. PS...it's nice to see a film of this much suspense not treating us to the usual routine of the "action" movie...which always seems to revolve around "blow `em up, `beat `em up ... Argo - Engaging history on film
Interesting and entertaining film - mostly factual with some fiction diced in for entertainment purpose- the Goodman Alan Arkin character storyline, the intense dramatic departure from the airport. Professional and tight direction by star Ben Affleck. He’s got the talent
