    Big Java 2nd edition

    Bought the 2nd edition of Big java by Cay Horstmann as recommended reading for a class at Uni. What a waste of money, it hardly differs from the first edition. There are much better books to start reading if you are a beginner, if this is on your uni course, use the library book, do not buy the 2nd edition unless you have too. The Chapter headers are a different names in the 2nd edition but basically its the same stuff inside each chapter as the 1st edition. Its an expensive book and not once have i referred back to it, not like other computer books i have. If you have either edition in your college or uni library use them because after your module has finished you will not open this book again. IMHO Conclusion Very interesting chapters and lots to learn about java plus practicals to ...

    Big Java is Excellent!

    I REALLY like this book. The book was optional for my college class. I'm so glad I bought it. I have used it for almost every assignment. It is a great reference tool and is very well organized. I don't know how I would be passing my class without it. Great book!

    Its okay

    It was an okay book it just took awhile to get to the main point of the chapeter or section...etc.It is extremley long and annoying to read. I only read the first chapter b/c I soon dropped the class. The class is the reason why I bought the book in the first place... personally my teacher was a lot more helpfull than the book... But I cant really complain taking that I only read 1 Chapter.

    The Book is awsome, interesting ,and detailed.I got it no only because it was a requirement for the class but also because is a good source for java programming. A book like this one will alway come handy.

    Big Java by Cay Horstmann (2005)

    I had two different java classes and two different books, so far I love Big Java more because it is unberstandable and lots of examples that I could follow to write a program of my need.
