Serenity (DVD, 2005)
It is the 26th century and after a brutal civil war between groups known as the Alliance and the Independents. The Alliance was victorious and they quickly colonize the galaxy with their military force. The surviving Independents are scattered around the galaxy. Another group called the Reavers also wander the planets at the edge of the galaxy and are known to have the habit of tearing their apart and eating them alive. Captain Malcolm Reynolds (Nathan Fillion), of the Space Freighter, Serenity, and his ragtag crew trade their way around the edges of civilized society. Of particular interest are two passengers they take on, Simon and River Tam (Sean Maher, Summer Glau), a brother and his telepathic sister on the run from the corrupt governing Alliance. As notorious former members of the anti-Alliance opposition, Mal and his crew make it difficult for Simon and River to stay hidden. Everything goes completely awry when a government assassin, The Operative Chiwetel Ejiofor), a sinister Alliance tracker, is sent to retrieve River. The crew of the Serenity find themselves in an awesome action-packed battle between the relentless military might of a totalitarian regime who will destroy anything - or anyone - to get the girl back and the bloodthirsty creatures who roam the uncharted areas of space. But, the greatest danger of all may be on their ship. This is a great movie!

Great movie for anyone, amazing for Firefly fans.
For those who don't know, this movie was based on the TV series Firefly. The series was spectacular, but Fox doomed it to failure by running it on Friday instead of a weekday night, not running it in widescreen as was intended, and by running the series completely out of chronological order (which is somewhat important for the storyline). The show was canceled before the 1st season finished. It really is a shame, because the show is action packed and hilarious. I reccomend it to anyone who likes sci-fi, western, or just wants to try something new. After the show was canceled many fans created a Firefly underground on the net and rallied their support for the show. The response from dedicated fans was so huge that creator Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel) began pitching ... For those who don't know, this movie was based on the TV series Firefly. The movie was picked up and that's where Serenity came from. The movie itself is very good. If you haven't seen Firefly, you will still enjoy it. The characters have a great chemistry and show it in every scene. It's entertaining because it doesn't focus only on the action and the sci-fi aspects, but focuses alot on the human aspect of the storyline. The plotline in the movie wraps up the big storyline from the series, so while it makes more sense if you've seen the show, it isn't completely necessary. The movie is full of adventure, humor, and humanity. All those good choke-you up things without being too hokey (as much as you can be in a scif-i anyway). I recomend this movie to anyone, and if you are already a Firefly fan, I already know you will buy it regardless of what a review says. If you haven't seen Firefly, pick it up.

Serenity DVD
I bought the Serenity DVD, which is the final continuation of the cancelled TV show Firefly. I think this DVD is a must-see for any sci-fi fan, especially if you're into Star Wars or other "space" stories. My favorite part of this movie was actually the bloopers, which are really funny. Something that would have made it better (though I don't think I've found this on many movies to date) is the Director's Commentary throughout the film captioned. When you turn on the Director Commentary and then hit captions, it captions the movie titles, not the commentary itself. But I can live without it. I think this is a great movie overall, in the A- range. The special effects are especially good when you consider how small the budget was for this film. Long live ... Bent and unusable.
It was delivered damaged. The case was cracked on both upper sides, and the disc was bent. There was a slight scratch. It (disc) is unusable. Perhaps damaged in transit or before. Didn't noticed outside damage when opened package as it was well wrapped and clean. Not new as looked like it had been opened and had no original plastic wrap. Movie follow up to Firefly series
I discovered the Firefly series and got the DVDs. I didn’t find out about the movie sequel called Serenity until o saw several of the shows in the series. I’ve enjoyed all of them and realized why this has become a cult classic.
