    THE CORMAC McCARTHY YOU HAVE TO READ

    One of the greatest novels in American literatuire. Let it stand on the same short shelf with Moby Dick, The Great Gatsby, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, and those half a dozen others which, in your esteem, tower above others in exemplifying the very best in American letters. Superbly crafted prose masterfully leads you through terrifying material and mental landscapes. McCarthy's West is at once horrifying and alluring. This is not the merely excellent, Oprah-approved, safe-for-high-school Cormac McCarthy of The Road. This is the author at a stunning peak of skill.

    bought the hardcover for my library (and to read of course) ....book was packed in bubble mailer, mightve been ok if it hadnt spent 3 weeks in transit

    bought the hardcover for my library (and to read of course) ....book was packed in bubble mailer, mightve been ok if it hadnt spent 3 weeks in transit. opened package and the graphic cover over the binding is torn and beat up in multiple places. disappointing for a new book. wouldve paid more for a box.

    Third time reading

    This is basically the greatest book written by an american author. Cant explain how amazing the writing is, his vocab/style/narrations/microstories. "They set forth in a crimson dawn where sky and earth closed in a razorous plane. Out there dark archipelagos of cloud and the vast world of sand and scrub shearing upward into the shoreless void where those blue islands trembled and the earth grew uncertain, gravely canted and veering out through tinctures of rose and the dark beyond the dawn to the uttermost rebate of space." unreal/10
