    A Dark Entertaining Movie

    Christopher Plummer stars as Dr. Parnassus a man who was approached by the Devil and given the opportunity to gain Immortality and accepted the challenge. Now, after thousands of years, the Dr. is faced with another challenge that involves his daughter. Enter a stranger (Heath Ledger) who could save the Dr.s Daughter. This movie is very dark, it is not for everyone and definitely not for children. The characters are portrayed in a way that makes some seem very evil and some seem very good, yet being a dark movie all the characters are portrayed in a way that make me think of my nightmares when I was growing up. It is a very good movie but I can see how some would not care for it. If you enjoyed Brazil then you would most likely like this movie, if you did not enjoy Brazil then you will ...

    A Fantastic Dark Surreal Fantasy!

    The story deals with many issues such as the typical good vs evil, temptation and redemption with a little touch of dark humor but not in the ussual way. By using many symbolism Terry Gilliam gives us a journey through surreal landscapes beyond imagination. Visually, I think that The Imaginarium is something that anyone who's into unconventional fantasy films or maybe Salvador Dali's art could enjoy, the performances are great specially Tom Waits who looks like he's having the time of his life playing Mr. Nick. On a sentimental level it's great to see Heath Ledger's last performance, to be honest, before watching the film I had some doubts if the way they were going to use Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell to complete his character could work, but the director, the production team ...

    Johnny Depp Never Disappoints

    Johnny Depp Never Disappoints. GREAT WHIMSICAL display of fantasy Awesome sets and acting Tremendously endearing and engrossing plot Parts of this are truly a comedic display of good and evil, which keeps this devilish-ly lighthearted and nothing like some movies that depict the Devil. Would’ve loved to see Johnny in it more, but what’s done is done unfortunately. Suffice to say it is very cool to see Heath Ledger in it too, may he R.I.P. and May his family and friends watch this with love and reverie. He and Johnny were two of the GREATS. Charming in many parts.

    Great cult film

    Heath Ledger's last movie. Interesting how they used Christian Bale, Johnny Depp, Jude Law and others. Great thoughtful film about our disposable society and desire for instant gratification. Good verses Evil. Karmic debt. moral dilemmas. Classic fantasy film some great site gags. Entertaining on the top level, thought provoking and even some early Monty Python moments. I can't say any more without spoiler. I think it is an excellent watch for most everyone. Everyone should own it to watch many time with friends and debate some of the lofty ideas. Dont forget to look for the Johnny Depp and others twist in the plot.

    A big promise that turned out to be dissapointing

    Terry Giliam has made many movies that became corner stones in this industry. The imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus was intended to be another such example, however as much as the film shows the creativity invested in trying to drive our imagination beyond the wildest dreams - the plot slows down quite soon after a dramatic and promising beginning, taking us through the film in a slow pace until a somewhat disappointing end... ...A big hope - that does not fulfills itself, worth watching if only for the marvelous wild imaginative scenes
