    The V story begins with the miniseries on this disk.

    The series V started out as a miniseries. This disk has that original miniseries. It begins with Mark Singer playing the part of a TV reporter shooting film of resistance fighters in Central America. He is chosen by a random lottery to be one of the first camera crews to go aboard the alien spaceship. Theme music from Star Wars was used in the show, which was strange. The process where the visitors use the carrot of helping the people of earth, and the stick of keeping order, is very interesting. It ends with an attack by the Visitors on the resistance outpost. Characters that we come to care about are killed, while fighting against the Visitors. The story line is left open for a continuation of the series.     Great Movie!!

    This movie/series is an excellent demonstration of how fascism, totalitarianism and police states develop. It's really a metaphor for how people start these types of political situations. I was extremely impressed with how the progression from freedom to a police state was rapidly implemented in the movie. The special effects were somewhat cheesy, especially in relation to how technology has developed over the years, but the character studies and the rationale behind the actions of the different characters was superb. The producer attempted to provide a demonstration of how police states begin. He also showed how freedom-loving people resist despots and also the depth of their zest for freedom. I was especially in awe of how applicable this movie was to the present state of affairs ...

    V 1985 Original Series Review

    If you remember the mid 80's then you remember the tv phenomenom that was V. Everybody young and old was captivated by this mini series with it's advanced special effects, awesome plot with loads of suspense, and pretty good acting for a made for tv mini series. The reincarnation of the show that ABC aired this past fall made me want to buy the original series to refresh my memory and I like comparing the old with the new when it comes to movies and shows. I was expecting to see something phony and cheesy but the old V series did not disapoint and was actually so advanced for 1985 that it's effects and plot still hold up here in 2009. I was very pleased with this purchase and I would highly recommend this show to any scifi fan. It's way better than the latest show ...

    Like the Series Then & Like it Now

    I really liked this Mini-series when it first came out in the 80's. A lot of well known TV Actors, as well as a few newcomers make this series entertaining. Even the actor who later went on to become famous as 'Freddie Kruger' (Nightmare on Elm Street) was in this series. There are a few 'Corny' things & scenes, but overall it's worth watching if your into TV Sci-Fi. I'm glad that it made it to DVD. But, if your gonna watch this mini series, you will also want to get 'V-The Final Battle' & 'V-The Series' to complete this popular TV series of the 80's. All in all, a good addition to my Collection of DVD's

    It gives Human beings a serious look at what we consider "problems" on this planet.

    Highly intriguing. It draws you into the notion of the existence of beings in the cosmos that are light years ahead of our Earth and the Human race. But I can do without the predictable, Hollywood, hero ending in this movie.👎🏿
