One of the few plays that makes a good film...
As an avid theatre-goer and comedy connoisseur, I was less than thrilled to have to watch one of my favorite plays come to life on the big screen. Much to my surprise, I was on the floor laughing within the first five minutes of this wonderful movie. Starring Carol Burnett, Michael Caine, John Ritter, Christopher Reeve, Nicollette Sheridan, Marilou Henner, and others, this film is jam-packed with comedic genius that will keep you rolling in the aisles from beginning to end. Director Peter Bogdanovich masterfully adjusts Michael Frayn's vision to fit an American audience, and only fails twice in receiving the reaction he hoped for (though both incidences occur near the beginning, and are quickly forgotten). For anyone who is a fan of the Frayn original, this movie certainly pays ... One of the biggest comedy I've ever seen!!!
Noises off is one of the best comedies of all time, great cast, well articulated, sexy, funny and chaotic. An all-star comedy, You are gonna love all the characters and You cannot believe all the mess behind the stage and on the stage. And just when members of this chaotic cast finally get their performance right everything starts going wrong!!

Underappreciated comedy movie!
Noises off has a star cast and Christopher Reeve is outstanding in this comedic role. Began as a stage play and is actually a play about the life of actors in a play. All-star cast does a great job and combine to make this a very funny movie. Highly recommended.

Noises off was only available on VHS tape until it was recently re-released on DVD. This is the funniest movie of all time. I have watched it at least 1,000 times and everytime I laugh. The plot in plot style of the movie adds to the humor. The film follows Lloyd Fellowes and his misfit cast on their bumpy road to Broadway. This film really captures the feeling of the theatre. While the cast are trying to master their lines and remember the sardines, their personal lives get in the way. The script blends seemlessly between the two story lines, "real-life" and "the play". All of the characters have little "quirks" to liven things up. Christopher Reeves character; Freddie,has a nose bleed whenever he sees violence, and ironically blood gives him nausa. when ever ... The script is very clever and the more I watch it the more I discover. The top three lines are "Lost the phone,never lost the phone before" (Ms. Clackett) "Don't Panic Don't Panic" (Tramplemain) and " I can't open sardines and answer the phone.I've only got one leg"(Ms. Clackett)I would recommend this film to anyone who loves the theatre and loves to laugh. It is a must see.

A truly off beat comedy wth a tremendous cast. Just knowing the stars of this film is enough to get you laughing...Michael Caine, Carol Burnette, John Ritter, Julie Haggerty, Marilu Henner and Christopher Reeve. Michal Caine plays the part of a director trying to put the pieces together of a stage comedy with a confused, to say the least, cast. As the show begins it's tour of of small stage venues around the country as it's warm up for Broadway, it's downhill all the way. As the show hilariously falls apart by pieces from stage to stage, it's hard to not to lose track of what's happening because of laughing to the point of tears.
