This book contains ALL the existing works of St John of the Cross, poet, mystic, and Doctor of the Church, and together with St Teresa of Avila, reformer of the Carmelite Order. The Kieran Kavenaugh-Otilio Rodriguez translation is the most recent and brings the best scholarship, translated and published by Discalced Carmelite friars. Includes his book-length works, The Ascent of Mount Carmel, Dark Night of the Soul, The Spititual Canticle, and The Living Flame of love, as well as a few shorter works such as "Precautions and Counsels", his few existing letters (unfortunately most were burned shortly after his death), and his poetry. John of the cross are of great worth this version has footnotes on the bottom that brings you much deeper into the meaning and purpose of this master of Carmelite spirituality and a doctor of the church. This is not your average read it truly is and will bring you to a higher level of spirituality and purity!
