À propos de ce produit

Product Information

From Final Fantasy series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, “Lost Odyssey” for the Microsoft Xbox 360 is an epic game. Transcending the typical JRPG archetype, this is a sweeping adventure. Produced by Mistwalker, this game has a familiar concept with a whole new story line. Published by Microsoft Game Studios and released in 2007, this title was the ninth best-selling game for Xbox in Japan. It’s still a solid choice for those with an Xbox console. Set in a world that blends magic with technology, “Lost Odyssey” for the Xbox 360 unfolds its narrative against a rich background. The world feels real but fantastical at the same time. Magic has always existed in this world, but it has only recently become widespread. Use the multiplayer mode to share this incredible gaming experience with your friends or with other users online. You play the game from the perspective of the immortal character Kaim Argonar. You have no memories, and part of the allure of the “Lost Odyssey” story is the process of discovering those memories. Throughout the narrative, you guide Kaim to meet other immortals who also suffer memory loss, including Tolten and Queen Ming. As Kaim is working to recover his memories, his confusing dreams slowly come to resolutions as truths are revealed. As you play, you can read “A Thousand Years of Dreams” to find out even more about Kaim and his immortal journey. Over the years, you see him fall in and out of love, find and lose families, and boldly face his struggles.Like many role-playing games, the story content of “Lost Odyssey” is one the most enjoyable aspects. This is because the thematic elements were actually developed by award-winning Japanese novelist Kiyoshi Shigematsu as well as Hironobu Sakaguchi. The elements are fully developed, providing a deep narrative seldom found in video games. Add to this the always-gorgeous music of famed composer Nobuo Uematsu, and it's no wonder the game is so strikingly beautiful.Every good RPG needs more than just a tale to be told. A great combat system is essential, and “Lost Odyssey” delivers. You can use up to five characters in a turn-based battle system. The game's Aim Ring system adds that little extra flair to make this title stand out. This introduces something of a real-time and skill-based element, rewarding players for quick fingers. Although you can play without it, mastering this technique will probably liven up the game for you. For the Xbox, there are three Odyssey DLC packs to continue the gaming saga. The most expansive brings seven new ring accessories and a new dungeon.Critically acclaimed, “Lost Odyssey” both epitomizes and transcends everything people love about RPGs. It takes familiar elements like random battles and turn-based fighting and reimagines them. The depth and care taken with story line are combined with innovative combat and advancement systems, making it easy to see how this title was such a hit in its first year. Gamers that love a traditional JRPG are bound to enjoy this title. Gamers who want to try something a little less cookie-cutter will discover something beautiful here.

  • Lost Odyssey

If your a fan of old school RPG's this game is for you. It evokes all the classic styling of framed franchises such as Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and slew of other great games in the genre but still carves out of a place of its own to feel unique. It has an engaging battle system that is fun to play and not to hard to use but still requires some forward thinking if you want to win and not get hammered. The sound and music are fantastic and, with really well done voice acting and a sweeping musical score that nails those engrossing and emotional moments. Last the graphics of this game is truly amazing. Lush vista's, strong visual design and great atmospheric lighting. The Unreal engine is really shown that it can do more than First-person shooter in terms of graphics, but that in the right ...

  • Lost Genre

A Consol RPG that spans 4 discs and approximately 80 hours of gameplay is worth a purchase (more then an hour of gameplay per dollar). Although you play an Immortal that can die... and you get an achievement for reading stories that are not only predictible, but also have no tie-in with the world you explore... and the fact that the only way I could play with the sound on was in the japansese voice acting... this was a fairly good game. Sure I have my gripes, but it's the type of last gen RPG that falls right in with FF10, yet adds so much more to explore and experience. The indepth storyline is interesting, however, the story didn't really present itself until the second disc. In the meantime, you are left to play the game without a clue of what's going on. I do think that might have ...

  • If you like turn-based Japanese RPG's...

This is a "VERY" good game. I cant give it an excellent because its not as good as the best JRPG I've ever played (Final Fantasy X) but it is very close. I was surprised that this game didn't get enough publicity because it definitely is a hidden gem. I was surprised however when I opened the case that this was a 4 disc game, considering its only a 40 hour game and it doesn't have huge environments. But its ok cuz as soon I was done disc 1 my friends wanted to play and it was kinda cool cuz at one point I had 3 of my friends in party chat all playing the same game. The only things I dont like about this game is that there are like 30 or more things called dream sequences. The dreams are well written and has nice music but is literally just a wall of text. And they ALL take 10-15 minutes to ...

  • Lost Odyssey is an Rpg mostly compared to Final Fantasy

What I like most about this game are the visuals its a cut above most rpgs. Im still a die hard fan of the final fantasy series and would take one of their games over this one, but not to say this isnt a great game cuz it is. This game has a great story line, interesting characters and a huge world. I love the battle system in this game. It is turn based and that is my favorite battle system in an rpg, also hard to find these days most are real time. The battle system is very similar to Final Fantasy X. Bottom line if you liked Final Fantasy X for the PS2 you will like this game theres not much to complain about in this game. It has 4 discs so its a game that will keep you busy for a loooooong time, I still havent beat it. LOL

  • Best 7th gen JRPG so far

If you're a fan of Eastern RPGs, this is pretty much the best thing you will find on the 360 or PS3 right now. PS3 really has nothing right now to offer. The 360 has a few JRPGs but the only one that comes close to this one is Star Ocean. And Star Ocean is hindered by it's horrible dialogue and lack of editing. The story is actually pretty good. And the Dialogue is much better than any of the other JRPGs available right now. Gameplay is also fun. Though the first few bosses of the game can be very hard. It gets easier as you learn many more skills and customize your characters. You also will have a large part of chars to pick from. As well as a large number of spells and skills to chose from. This game could easily have been a Final Fantasy game. The music is even done by Nobuo Uematsu. I ...
