Synopsis
Since it was first published, more than seven million people have been touched by the magic ofThe Christmas Box, a holiday classic that is as beloved in our time asA Christmas Carolwas in Dickens's. When Richard Paul Evans wroteThe Christmas Box, he intended it as a private expression of love for his two young daughters, Jenna and Allyson. Though he often told them that he loved them, he didn't feel that they could ever really understand the depth of his feelings until they had experienced the joy of rearing their own children, and by that time their relationship would have changed forever. In writingThe Christmas Box, he hoped that at some time in the future they would read the book and know of their father's love.As Evans began to write, he was amazed at the inspiration that flowed into his mind and heart. He completed the moving story of a widow and the young family who comes to live with her in less than six weeks, and bound twenty copies to give as Christmas presents to family and friends. In the following weeks, those twenty copies were shared and passed along from family to family, from friend to friend, and what began as a tale for two little girls became a message of miracles, hope, and healing for people throughout the world., Richard, a busy and preoccupied father, discovers a Christmas box full of love letters from an old woman to her dead daughter and, with the help of an angel, begins to learn the true meaning of Christmas.

  • The Christmas Box

The Christmas Box is the perfect holiday story. It is a short read and a true story which helped me start a New Christmas Tradition with my Daughter each year. I love old boxes, trunks, train cases and often wonder about the places they have been and the treasures they have held. Each year I choose an old box and fill it with treasures for my daughter, lock it and give her husband the key for her to open Christmas morning. As the book says, "The Christmas Box remains a source of great joy to me, for though it appears empty, to me it contains all that Christmas is made of, the root of all the wonders in a childs eyes, and the source of magic of Christmases for centuries to come. More than giving, more than believing, for these are the mere manifestations of the contents of the box. The ...

  • The Christmas Box

Book is in very nice condition for being used. There is a small glue mess on the back of the book cover, but nothing that would affect the reading of the book. I was happy to find it again after all these years.

  • A Loving Christmas Story

The Christmas Box reminds me of my childhood in the UK when we would give “Christmas Boxes” usually to those who regularly served us throughout the year. The Christmas Box was usually a small gift of money. Mr Evans book is truly a gift easily absorbed by all readers and for me after the last ‘damp’ page page ended, I have carried the books message with me and feel it will linger in my mind. A tale simply told with great and enduring effect.

  • The Christmas Box

Thia ia great read. Very inspiring. This author really has a gift for writing. His descriptions make you feel like you are there. He really brings the pages to life. He has a unique writing style that is real special. Also this is a great series that is short enough to read in a evening or sunday afternoon. Is my favorite author to date..

  • Heartwarming Story

The book was in excellent condition. I read this book every year starting on December 6th. If you read the book you will understand why. I lent my copy to a friend and never got it back, so I had to order another copy for myself. It doesn't take long to read and it is a very heartwarming story.
