Highlights of the season include the first appearance of future cast member Harry Morgan who plays an odd general, Radar (Gary Burghoff) being bit by a dog, and the invention of Spam Lamb. Among the classic episodes: "Bulletin Board;" "House Arrest;" "Adam's Ribs;" and "Abyssinia, Henry"--the classic season finale where Henry (McLean Stevenson) is discharged and leaves for home. The season also proved to be the last for Trapper (Wayne Rogers).

MASH Season 3 - My thoughts.
I have always liked the first 3 seasons of MASH with the original cast. This is one of the sit-coms I can watch again and again. I find the content witty, funny and well-written. I've tried watching the show on various television stations only to discover that they always cut the airing for more commercial time. Many times there are references to events or sub-plots that I don't get to see the beginning of and I just got tired of only getting "half the picture". So I found the complete uncut versions on DVD through eBay and have enjoyed it thoroughly. I would have liked the manufacturer to have included deleted scenes, bloopers etc. but I find many DVDs don't have them so I can't complain too much. With seasons 1, 2 and 3 in my collection, my M*A*S*H library is complete.
Season 3 was the last great season of M*A*S*H. By Season 4, both Trapper and Henry were gone, and with them the wackiness and absurd hi-jinks of the 4077. While Season 4 was watchable, mostly because Frank was still there to be Hawkeye's foil, I found BJ was very bland and uninteresting; also, he and Hawkeye did not the chemistry that Hawk and Trapper shared. Col. Potter was a better commander than Henry (he WAS regular army, after all)--but that was part of the problem. It didn't leave a lot of room for the craziness that happened under Henry's watch. Harry Morgan as Col. Potter did well with the character he had, but there was not the comradery with Hawkeye (and now BJ) that Henry, Hawkeye and Trapper had together. The writing after Season 3 eroded, too, mostly because the situations to ... Season 3 was the last great season of M*A*S*H. Without Trapper, Hawkeye no longer had a partner in crime--the nurse chasing pretty much came to a screeching halt and the Army brass/regulations bashing ended under Col. Potter's watchful eye. With Potter in command, Hawkeye was not able to take matters into his own hands--which he able to do when Henry, who was usually oblivious to what was going on, was there. There were a lot of classic episodes in Season 3, but it was hard to watch the last one -- "Abyssinia, Henry" -- knowing what was going to happen.

I received it in the mail the other day thank you so now my husband have mash now he can watch it on his days off of work I want to keep getting all them for him we really like mash a slot when we had Cable that's all we watch on TV
