Great sewing machine with modern features
I needed a sewing machine for my holster making business. I needed a good heavy-duty machine for sewing light leather vinyl fabrics. Most importantly I need a machine with good speed controls. The Singer 6800 is perfect for what I do. The speed control is spot-on and allows me, a beginner, to show down the sewing machine to match my lack of skill. Being able to see the bobbin, with its top loading design with a clear window means not running out of bobbin thread. Newer machines like this one also come with a needle threading device, perfect for not so young eyes. The machine is strong enough to sew through the weigh material I use daily. The digital display makes selecting stitches nicely simple, especially for a beginner. Another awesome feature is the ability to dial in how much ... I use a walking foot attachment for the types of material I work with. Short of buying a 1000-dollar industrial walking foot machine, this is perfect, and with enough features to get me where I need to be at this point in time. Cons: Straight stitches are 4.5mm long. For the kind of work I do, I wish the machine made slightly longer stitches. I use T70 thread for top stitch thread. There are some problems with thread of this weight. I wish it handled heavier thread easier for top stitch as well as bobbin thread.

New Singer is a keeper!
I've had my eye on this machine for over a year and it is just as good as I was hoping for. I am a Singer machine person and this machine is easy to use and was not hard to learn. I have not been using it long, but I have confidence that it will hold up and sew for as long as I need it to.

Would purchase again
Was ready to move from a beginner sewing machine to something a bit more advanced. This was the perfect choice. It didn't break the bank and my projects look great. This machine has helped me step out of my comfort zone and learn a few more sewing tricks. Highly recommend Singer 6800c Heavy Duty.

Awesome Sewing Machine!
Love this sewing machine - I am a "Singer" fan anyway, and have a "non" computerized Heavy Duty Singer - I purchased this one to see if it was as "good" - and it IS!! I found this easy to use and love all the stitches :) LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!

Singer Heavy Duty With All the Bells and Whistles .
Nice Singer sewing machine, has all the bells and whistles without costing a lot of money. I've always wanted a sewing machine that can do the alphabet!
