America's most recognizable death metal band is arguably known more for their extensive festival circuit tour than their albums. Though they grew up in the alternative/hip-hop metal heyday of the 90s, Lamb of God's taste is strictly in the Pantera/Megadeth tradition, which has only benefitted the band in the era of groove-heavy metal like Meshuggah and Mastodon. Nonetheless, in an all-too common theme that keeps metal fans rumbling sincewell, since there's been metal, Their last album, 2006s SACRAMENT, was a fan favorite that peaked at #8 on Billboard and received a Grammy nomination in 2007. Recorded in New York, Virginia and New Hampshire with producer Josh Wilbur their new album WRATH is based on the ten plagues from the book of Exodus, As that plaque spreads, LAMB OF GOD is embarking on European tour and performing new songs.

Lamb of God Wrath
Wrath is a little like Lamb of God's Divine Intervention–a strong effort from a band that's capable of better. The hooks are there, if not as consistently as on As the Palaces Burn, and there are several great songs, especially the first ones streamed online, "Contractor" and "Set to Fail." Still, much of the album sounds like it's on the verge of taking off. "In Your Words" can't live up the promise of it's first minute, and "Fake Messiah" and "Everything to Nothing" sound great until the part when they're supposed to leave lasting impressions. The skills are still there–hooks drop into "Dead Seeds" and "Broken Hands," the performances are reliably complex and organic, and the band remains ... Wrath of Lamb of God
Killer CD never stopping to take a breath. If death metal or trash metal had more of a rock side, that would be this album. Those catchy riffs heard from previous albums like Ashes of the Wake and Sacrament are fully aware here. Lamb of God evolutionize themselves from the angry spitful young musicians they once were and formed into the seasonsed knowing maters that they are. One example of this is the vocals of Randy Blythe coming from the typical death metal style to a "death and roll" style mixing rock greats with his own style. If you are a fan of the band then I seriously encourage you buying this record.Killer CD never stopping to take a breath.
