Tried and True from Taste of Home
I think I have all of the Taste of Home cooking books & annuals. Besides being my favorite magazine it is the one I turn to more than others for good home cooked meals. People send in their tried and true recipes from all over the U.S.A. and you know that the kitchens have tested and re-tested them to make sure they are all delicious! I like the 5-ring lay flat binder. No more book closing up on you when you are in the middle of a recipe. Food sections have tabs for ease in locating what you are looking for and the splash guards are a plus! As always they have lots of color photos. The content goes from cookies, bars and brownies....cakes, cheesecakes, pies and tarts....quick breads, muffins and scones....savory yeast breads & yummy holiday treats. No disappointment in this book!
When this recipe book arrived, I was a bit disappointed because it was a three ring binder and I am hard on my cookbooks to the point that if they are not sturdy they will fall apart. However, I got around to looking at the recipes, especially the cookies, and the book has not made it to the shelf. I even take it with me while visiting my Dad--he loves cookies, and to our cabin where grandchildren thrive on cookies. The collection of cakes and cheese cakes--actually the collections of all the baking items is amazing. My other "go to" books are idle. There are many colored pictures for those who like seeing what they make is supposed to look like. The Best Baking Cookbook Around.
I received this cookbook as a Christmas present. I have spent hours just going over it and reading the recipes. I have tried quite a few. The Triple Layer Cookie Bars are so moist and chewy. The Lemon Bread Pudding is wonderful. My grand daughter, who is 16, loved it also. So I have bought her one for her upcoming birthday. She loves to bake and I think this will be great for her. Lots of new things to try. WE can bake and compare as we live in different states. This is wonderful for a beginner baker.I received this cookbook as a Christmas present. Excellent Cookbook
when i was growing up i love to watch my mom baking and now i am a mom and i still love baking. It calms me down and feel peace when i am baking. I am looking for new styles and what can i bake with common ingredients to make it fun and tasty. I read the cookbook at a book store i was addicted to it but the price at the book store is expensive so i couldnt buy it. I was hoping that i would get it a little cheap on ebay which i did ha. However, it will help me to improve my baking skills and my experience in baking. I always and still bake my famous sugar cookies for the holidays even fall as well. Nice hardbound book. It has everything you need. I bought it just for the cookies but found that it has so much more. A good purchase, highly recommended.
