FIRST SEASON OF SUPERNATURAL
I watched this show from the very first episode because its premise caught my attention and was pleasantly surprised by just how good it turned out to be. The two actors who play the Winchester brothers play very well off of one another and have great chemistry. Jensen Ackles, who plays the older brother is really the break out star of this show as his performances are outstanding. On the surface he appears to be little more than the smart ass big brother who simply wants to hunt down and destroy any supernatural creature he possibly can. It doesn't take long for us to see that Sam (the youngest) is not the only compassionate brother. They both want to find their father and avenge their mother's death as well as help others along the way. Add the character of the father to the mix and ... This show is not just about two demon-hunting brothers. It also skillfully explores the complicated relationship not only between the brothers, but between the brothers and their father as well. Supernatural only gets better and better as the season progresses and has become much more than just a monster of the week show. Every episode has wonderful, witty dialogue and unlike some other 'generic' horror/sci-fi shows targeted at younger audiences, Supernatural purposely tries to be different and to stand out from the crowd (and succeeds). By the end of this first season, I was completely enthralled by the storylines and looked forward to the show every week. The action only gets better and better until the season finale that leaves you wondering, what are the Winchesters going to do next and how will they possibly top this in season 2?

Monster of the week with extras!
Supernatural is a great show in my opinion. Sam and Dean are two brothers that you actually get into whats going on with their lives in the show. Driving around in a classic muscle car, killing a different monster each week, with some big bad always looming in the shadows of each season. The writing is good as well as the plots. Lots of interesting takes on classic monsters and plenty of new, unique baddies as well. A little sy fy mixed with some magic, occult, monsters, sibling rivalry, and Americana. Great supporting cast as well. I give the first season an A-.Supernatural is a great show in my opinion. If you're a fan of good tv featuring "things that go bump in the night", then Supernatural is for you. Season two had just began when I started watching the show, and I quickly became hooked. I had to purchase season one to catch up on the backstories. Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles play Sam and Dean Winchester, estranged brothers brought together again by the disappearance of their demon-hunting father. As the search for their dad deepens, the supernatural experiences they encounter bring them closer together as Dean, who has assisted his father for years, helps Sam come to grips with the realization that this is the path he is meant to follow. The two are in stark, but perfect contrast to each other: big brother Dean's wise-cracking, hard as nails, black and white persona is offset by ... As Dean and Sam cruise the highways, searching for their father while battling evil, you'll be glad you came along for the ride.

A great show that creates its own mythology

That's the show in a nutshell. If you're already a fan of the show, then you can stop reading now. If you have never seen the show, then trust me when I say this is one of the better shows on television. The show begins with Sam and Dean Winchester trying to locate their father, John, who has gone missing while on a "hunting" trip. What John was "hunting" wasn't an animal but the demon who murdered his wife. They figure if they continue the "family business," they'll eventually locate their father. The different hunts take them through various small towns battling ... This show takes what could have been easily a monster of the week premise and crafts its own rich mythology. Once you get into the show you'll understand the purpose of the Colt and it's mysterious 13 bullets, a shotgun that fires rock salt, and what happened on November 2, 1983. They consistently come up with new takes on old legends such as Bloody Mary, Hook Man, and Route 666. They also understand just how far out the material is and somehow they don't take themselves too seriously. The relationship between Sam and Dean is exactly what you would expect from a dysfunctional family that has been hunting demons for over 20 years. The actors (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) play perfectly off of each other and a person could actually believe they were brothers. You can tell when they're being playful as well as when they're getting on each others' nerves just like a real family. The grounded realism their relationship brings is one of the keys to the show. That plus the truckload of weapons that they carry in the 1967 Chevy Impala just to deal with said demons. All to a soundtrack of 80's rock. For you technical ones, this is the first season of the show and the set contains the first 22 episodes of the series on 6 discs showing a 1.78:1 aspect ratio, with English (2.0 Dolby Digital) language and multiple language subtitles. The extras contain deleted scenes, audio commentary from cast and crew, easter eggs, photo gallery and a couple of fluff featurettes. If you're a fan of horror movies and/or the buddy cop genre, then you should enjoy this series. Once you get into this series you'll be hooked. (Pun definitely intended) I highly recommend this series and I think that you'll enjoy it as well.

Umbrella Review
Although I'am probably best known for my Resident Evil Reviews i do like other things to one of the main things i like on T.V at the moment is Supernatural. Becuase hear in the U.K there is very little good Television and most of the good shows come from the U.S.A and this is no exception. Although some but not all episodes are scary that dosn't stop this being great entertainment its funny,emointal and action packed aswell as the odd scary bit now and then. For me the best episodes are the Benders,Bloody Mary, the Pilot and for a real scare Provenence and in my opinon the best Faith. All the episodes range from good to great and you can watch them agian and agian with out getting bored. The main charecters Sam and Dean Winchester are very in depth and went you think ... The story is laid through all the episodes all the way to the nail bitting final The Actors play of one another exelently both the Whinchester Brothers and there Dad as well as the Evil Meg who shows up in some of the episodes as well as Bobby singer who only stars in the last episode but becomes more promonent in the second Serise. Its great for fans of Horror and mystery an in my opinion far better than the X-Files since i had to buy both volume one the first 11 episodes and the second volume the last 11 episodes which cost around thirty pound each which is sixty pounds in English money which is about $100 dollars i would recomend this Dvd Set to any one as you get all the great episodes for a fraction of the price.
