The fourth title in the whimsical board game series that debuted in 1999, Mario Party 4 offers five new 3D boards and a lineup of 50 mini-games. Up to four players can choose from Mario, Wario, Donkey Kong, Peach, Daisy, Luigi, Waluigi, and Yoshi as they take turns moving around a series of colored spaces. After each character completes a turn, a mini-game is played, the nature of which (two versus two, three versus one, etc.) is determined by the space each character ends up standing on. Players once again earn coins by winning mini-games, which are used to purchase items and stars. Stars determine the game's overall winner after a finite number of turns. The featured boards include Goomba's Greedy Gala, Shy Guy's Jungle Jam, Toad's Midway Madness, Boo's Haunted Bash, and Koopa's Seaside Soiree. Each features a number of interactive elements, such as roller coasters and giant roulette wheels. An additional board starring Bowser is also available after completing the single-player Story Mode. Other notable features in Mario Party 4 include special Mini and Mega Mushrooms giving characters the ability to increase or decrease in size to access different parts of the board, a handicapping system to balance play for partygoers with different skill levels, and a tag battle option allowing two teams to compete for stars instead of four individual players. Examples of some of the featured mini-games include Paratrooper Plunge, where players freefall through the sky to collect as many coins as possible (all while avoiding enemies); Mario Speedwagons, a four-player drag race; Butterfly Blitz, where two teams race to catch valuable butterflies with their nets; Mr. Blizzard's Brigade, which has players trying to avoid being hit by snowballs while standing on a frozen pond; Booksquirm, where players look for holes in a giant book to avoid getting crushed by its continuously turning pages; Stamp Out, a game which has characters bouncing atop rubber stamps in an attempt to blot the most ink on a white sheet; and Candlelight Flight, where one player is left holding a candle while the other three players try to douse it with squirt guns. Additional mini-games and modes of play can be earned by beating each of the boards using all eight characters, and players are free to compete in their choice of mini-games after first unlocking them in either the four-player Party Mode or single-player Story Mode. Records for each character and board are kept in the areas of number of games played, number of times won, highest number of coins earned, and highest number of stars earned. Top performances in the individual mini-games are also tracked and saved to a memory card.

Seller used a stock image of the game but I received the disc only. Has a clause in description for illustration purposes only which led me to believe I was not getting that exact game but a similar game as multiple of the same game was being sold. The game works fine. However If I knew I was getting a disc only I wouldn’t have purchased it at such a high price. Why not just simply say in the description the auction is for the game disc only.

Best Mario Party there is!
Our family played Mario Party many years ago when my boys were little. Then we found a place to play retro games a few weeks ago and saw Mario Party and had to play it. Boy did it bring back memories. We had so much fun on the way home I went on eBay & ordered it to play on the Wii we have (that no one plays). I also had to order gamecube controllers ( also from eBay) and within a few days we were playing Mario Party at home. We've played 4 or 5 times in the last few weeks and are still having fun with it. We've tried a few after 4 but none were as much fun as "Mario Party 4"Our family played Mario Party many years ago when my boys were little. Great game for kids 5 to 75 years
This game cube game was a hit! My grandkids and I have truly had a lot of fun playing it. It was a Christmas gift for the 5 year old and is just right for that age level. It is interesting and challenging enough for 8 year old and is not too difficult for this old grandma. You can play it alone or with others. The animation is super and not monotonous. The kids especially like the animation when they give you the "presents" in the story mode which is for a single player. The board mode is like a board game with different challenges where you pick up stars and points, the winner being the one with most points and stars. The grandkids have other Mario games they love and this one didn't disappoint. I hear lots of whoops and hollers while they're playing. They ... This game cube game was a hit! A fun clean multiplayer game!
A fun game over all. My siblings and I enjoy playing it! The graphics, the mini games and the character selection are improved from the first two Mario Party's. The control's are fairly simple but not so much as to make it too easy for older players. I did think they could of had a better board selection. However the short but challenging mini games made up for that. I was a little concerned with one board "Goomba's Greedy Gala" a casino like map and the lottery booth's. But it made the game more interesting because you never knew when things would fall up or down in your favor. "Conclusion" I would definitly recommend this game for anyone who is of the age of six to seventeen. I was very happy with my purchase.A fun game over all. My siblings and I enjoy playing it! All the fun of youth
Nintendo has always been about fun and here is no different with 8 or so characters to choose from tons of different mini games and boards to play on its hard to not have an enjoyable time. Great game! Nice beginner to the GameCube Series - would recommend Mario Parties 7, 6, 5, and then 4 in that order though...
Wow! What a game. What a pacesetter to the beginning of revolutionary Mario Party for GameCube Nintendo History! (Nintendo GameCube was simply the greatest console they've ever made to date - hands down, it'll be hard to beat as far as I can tell - it's so good they keep bringing back pieces and parts of its legacy and remaking its games because it was so awesome, and people still love it but don't know the history behind this legendary console, regardless...) Fun! Multiplayer! Enthralling! A great first step in the FOUR GAME MARIO PARTY SERIES! This is the only Nintendo Console to date to have FOUR MARIO PARTY GAMES MADE FOR IT!!! WHY? BECAUSE THE Nintendo GameCube IS A LEGEND!!! Anyways, graphics are very rounded and soft as you'd expect in GameCube's first attempts at legendary games ... Wow! What a game.
