"breakthrough" is right-on
I learned not long ago about -any- kind of foam rolling, from a friend whose chiropractor had her get a hard-ish, knobbly one (and via which she's experiencing great relief to her lower back by rolling just on the outside of her thighs). Got one myself, been doing research online... came across Sue Hitzmann videos, bought the book and am about halfway through it - being blown away every time I read further. The woman absolutely knows the science about the body, in a way that most doctors, body workers, et al clearly do not. Her thoroughly researched/tested method is not only cutting edge, it -doesn't hurt- and is -easy to do-, and the results are immediate and personally noticeable. Absolutely fascinating science, well-written and "readable"/understandable. But even if you don't care ... Absolutely fascinating science, well-written and "readable"/understandable. But even if you don't care to read through the first chapters, and are willing to follow directions exactly, you can just -do- the techniques (hardly "exercise") - on a -soft- roller and/or little ball, not a hard one - and experience results that apply to the -whole body- (even if you just use the ball on the feet!). I sit at a computer most of the day - rolling my hands with the ball each evening is greatly helpful (and not just for my hands - I can see the difference in my -face-... it's all about -rehydrating- the connective tissue which goes all over the body). Thrilling to be able to get massage-like results -on oneself-! (Note that the newer version/s of the book have the update that she discovered better results from a 5" diam., yet softer roller than is shown in the earlier versions. The long rollers are expensive but worth it, because harder versions cause pain - and she shows that not only is pain not needed, it's -counter-productive-. Rollga makes workable soft balls.)

Great Book for Learning MELT techniques!
The explanations and the pictures are valuable in learning the "how to's" of this method. I am lucky to have a Yoga Therapist as my friend who can also provide more assistance in my learning this method.

Melt Method
I wanted to start the Melt Method right away but it's difficult to read all the history and info about why you need to do the exercises. After that I couldn't figure out what to do first or next so I finally put it all in a corner.

Revelation for pain refeif
This is an easy to do process, but it takes some understanding. Read it slowly and digest what you are reading. It makes sense and it works!
