Tremendously Built Product for the Modern Times MacBook Pro 15.4
Absolutely convinced that the apple 15.4 MB470ll/A is the most solid computer I have worked on. Performance has shown to be far above the rest in its class. Very stylish looking for any professional or student with its reliability. The 2.4Ghz machine was my second that I bought. Its 250G hard drive plus the 8G memory that I have installed was way ahead of its time. The Battery Life on this computer is way beyond anything in its class. Its functionality of the Macbook Pro to perform multiple tasks at the same time is superb. The demand of power in this Macbook is more then enough. The visual effect is crisp and give any HD television a run for the money. Being a technical electronic profession I really do like the ability to manage some of the components myself. Never the less not having the onslaught of virus infections on my computer to contend with is a big plus. If thinking about the next purchase of a laptop in the future. Look into making that purchase a Macbook Pro.

C2D machines not worth it.
I wrote a long explanation of H265 video as the successor to H264, but somehow it didn't want to upload it so I'll shorten it best I can. Neither H264 or H265 video codec is supported in hardware on a Core 2 Duo. It will muscle through an H264 video but fail miserably as everyone starts to save in H265. You need hardware support to play the newer video standard and try spending $600 on a Macbook Pro that can't play most videos in next year. I already need a Roku Ultra b/c my Roku 3 can't play it. Apple TV 4 can't even play it. Nividia Shield, RoKU Ultra, Roku Premiere + and spare few cell phones can play 10bit H265. Focus is actually getting H265 hardware decoders IN moble CPUs b/c they'll never have the brute strength and need it first. Funny part is a Core 2 Duo needs it MORE than most ... Shame. Any i Series PC a better deal and I'm an Apple Fan Boy.

Macbook Pro is a pro laptop!!
I LOVE my Macbook Pro! One of the best purchases I've ever made! It's simple to use and has a ton of extra features that a regular PC wouldn't have like the trackpad and Safari browser, etc. If you are thinking about getting one, it won't disappoint. The one I got is a late 2008 model and is very comparable to the newer models. I like the fact that it has a removable battery so that if it runs down I can always replace it and have a back-up battery. The speed of the laptop is superb. I was having to use an 8 year old dinosaur Dell desktop that was on it's last leg. The superior quality and user-friendly interface of my Macbook is light-years ahead of my old PC. Back To Mac and Happy To Be Home
This is not an attempt to denigrate my PC. Several years ago my workplace switched us all to PCs, where I had spent most of my life (well, from the release of the very first Macs) working on Macintosh computers. In November, with changes at work, we were required to acquire our own Macintosh and I looked to Ebay as an outlet to do so at a reasonable price. Initially I looked at the 13 inch Macbook Pro, but opted instead for the 15.4 model. While I have gained an appreciation over the past few years for the capabilities of the PC platform, I am an individual who does a great deal of desktop publishing and photography. Macintosh just seems to meet my needs better and allows me to accomplish my assignments much more easily. The multimedia capabilities are almost endless, especially in ... Great product don't be put off by the age of this laptop.
I bought this product due to the fact that it is the last year that the MacBook Pro was built to be easily upgraded. The late 2008 model was the first year with the current aluminum unibody. In 2009 Apple made a change to the battery so they have to be serviced by Apple. For late 2008 the bottom cover was built in 2 pieces which makes access to the battery and hard drive easy. The 2009 and newer models have a single piece cover that requires you to remove 8 screws to have access to the hard drive and battery which can't be user replaced anymore. Even though the laptop was made back in 2008 its still a powerful performer. With Apple laptops you don't have to be afraid of instant outdating.I bought this product due to the fact that it is the last year that the MacBook Pro was built to be easily upgraded.
