Great for the Thomas Lover in Your Family
This is a great book! Thomas and his friends help teach colors, numbers, sizes, different objects and letters. Each page has several flaps to lift and explore - over 60 in all. The illustrations are colorful and vibrant and the pages are nice and thick to last through all the lifting and looking your little one is sure to dish out. I also like the larger size of this book as it makes it easier for little hands. The written prose on each page is simple and easy for younger kids to understand and for older children to read. I think the last page is our favorite - the silly freight cars are all lined up with letters A through Z and a corresponding object under each flap. This book is great for car trips! Old fashioned Morals & Fun!
Any Thomas book is a Best Bet for your little ones enjoyment and for teaching the Golden Rule. It is easy to relate to Thomas, he gets into such predicaments & has wonderful adventures. That makes it easy to pass on life lessons to the next generation through him. We used to have many books that were popular, good literature & accomplished the same. Now Thomas is one of the few that can take up the banner. Short of resurrecting titles from before books were just used to reinforce the 'need' for the latest action figure Thomas fills the void of moral fun. Yes there are plenty of Thomas play sets & figures out there to purchase, but nothing compares to snuggling up and reading to the children. Thomas the Tank Engine's Big Lift-and-look Book
We bought this book for our then two-year-old and it is still his favorite of all his books. The flaps are not as sturdy as they could be, he's torn a few and the Elmer's glue thing has been initiated, but all-in-all, it's a fabulous book and teaches counting, the alphabet, objects, shapes, etc. It's just such a cute book and is without all the negative things that the regular Thomas books has (i.e. name calling, put downs, etc.). This really isn't a Thomas book per se, but more of a basic let's go to the train yard and see what's going on type of book. I highly recommend it for the train lover in your family. It's one of the nicest books we own.We bought this book for our then two-year-old and it is still his favorite of all his books.
