Great machine!!!
This is such a great little machine if you are looking for a non-computerized machine. The only con for me (and it is not a big one) is it does not have the needle up/down feature. Nice even stitches, very easy to operate, and relatively quite. Also, the instruction manual is very easy to understand. I would recommend this machine to anyone who does not want all the bells and whistles and headaches of a computerized machine. This is such a great little machine if you are looking for a non-computerized machine. The only con for me (and it is not a big one) is it does not have the needle up/down feature. Excellent heavy duty machine
I like this heavy duty sewing machine. The aluminum base feels great and adds a bit more weight to the machine so it doesn't vibrate when sewing. The black hd1000 also comes with additional accessories which are a great value, the waking foot, Teflon foot, 2 patterns, stickers and a hard cover. The white HD1000 looks great but I think the accessories really adds value to this package; although the machine is stunning in black. Would buy this again, especially if you need a basic machine that can handle any project such as quilting or bag making. I like this heavy duty sewing machine. Janome is slipping badly
jJanome sewing machine is attractive , heavy weight and simple. when it wants to work right it does a great job. but some times its impossible. and it is a really simple machine. i have been sewing for 65 yrs. so i know what i'm talking about. so i am disappointed with it for that reason. i have used Janome for many years and love the product. but they sure have declined in the last 10 yrs or so. i hoped this would by my last machine but i have a feeling its not going to work out that way.jJanome sewing machine is attractive , heavy weight and simple. when it wants to work right it does a great job. but some times its impossible. and it is a really simple machine. i have been sewing for 65 yrs. so i know what i'm talking about. so i am disappointed with it for that reason. i have used Janome for many years and love the product. but they sure have declined in the last 10 yrs or so. i hoped this would by my last machine but i have a feeling its not going to work out that way.

Love Janome
I bought my last Janome 20 years ago. Love it still. This one is almost the same model with 20 years of improvements. I need it to take with me to classes and events as well as sewing at home. If it's anywhere near as good as my old one, It's a winner. Light weight, compact, works extremely well and looks great.

Great Machine
I’m new to sewing, as such there has been a learning curve of settings, needle size, thread size, fabrics, tension, undoing a jam, etc. This machine has held up great to my learning and throws a solid stitch. The only thing I haven’t been able to sew is an adhesive jean patch near the seam on some jeans, the adhesive seems to have been thick enough to jam up the machine no matter what I adjusted.
