Based on the successful TV series, this movie tells the story of an innocent man, Dr. Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford), convicted falsely of murdering his wife. He escapes from the van taking him to prison and seeks to solve the crime by himself while being pursued relentlessly by the U S Marshall Sam Gerard assigned to the case (Tommy Lee Jones), in a Best Supporting Actor Oscar winning role. You will love the camaraderie between the pursued and the pursuer. It is strictly a game for Sam Gerard, who proclaims "I don't care" when Dr. Kimble proclaims his innocence when they once catch up with each other. The scene where Dr. Kimble escapes from the van is one where you will jump out of your skin. When an out-of-control train starts chasing him in chains beside the track, you know that he ... This scene must have been carefully choreographed, or there could have been some loss of life. Another exciting scene is Kimble's exit from the hospital where he is trying to find the one-armed man who killed his wife. Gerard shoots relentlessly at a fleeing Kimble as he barely gets through glass doors that are being shut automatically in the hospital. The movie's ending is very hokie, and the reason for the murder is not a good one. However, the movie itself is well worth the ride. I can overlook the ending and just enjoy the plot as it moves toward its ending. If you like action that is believable, watch this movie. You will forget all your troubles for 2+ hours.

Another great performance by Harrison Ford!
This movie was excellent! It is full of action, adventure and suspense. But it appeals to more than just the typical action audience. I remember watching TV re-runs of the original 'Fugitive' in the 80s. I believe it was originally filmed in the 50s. This movie carried on the legacy superbly. Harrison Ford nailed his role. He seems to do very well while acting in an action/adventure style film. ie. Indiana Jones trilogy, Star Wars etc. Anyway, buy this DVD, you won't be sorry!This movie was excellent! Of COURSE it's great.....
Harrison Ford AND Tommy Lee Jones?!???!!? Of COURSE it's great!! The energy, the action, the emotion, the drive.... the actors ARE the characters! The casting was genius!! I grew up with the TV series, and was skeptical of a movie version..... but the cast is so good, working with such synergy.... well, I just get totally involved every time I watch it! This is my third copy....it is truly a classic, not relying on green screens and computer generation to carry the film. Finally...if you have never experienced this film, you're missing out on a little piece of history.....iconic history. Harrison Ford AND Tommy Lee Jones?!???!!? Of COURSE it's great!! Incredible!
This film is amazingly non-stop adventure, action, and suspense from beginning to end. It's like a bad dream, where you are falsely accused of the most heinous of acts (murdering the love of your life) and sentenced to prison, and then to have matters grow worse with each passing day! From car wrecks to car chases to near drowning to hiding out in innumerable places all while be hunted relentlessly by a rather adorable and yet psychotic Federal Marshall...wow! This is one you can watch over again, and see many details and clues that you miss the first time around. Enjoy!This film is amazingly non-stop adventure, action, and suspense from beginning to end.
