Lena Adams--the county's sole female detective--wants to see justice done, since her sister was the first victim. Sara, too, cannot escape the terror. A secret from her past could hold the key to finding the killer--unless he finds her first., From New York Times bestselling author Karin Slaughter, the first novel in her acclaimed Grant County Series. A small Georgia town erupts in panic when a young college professor is found brutally mutilated in the local diner. But it's only when town pediatrician and coroner Sara Linton does the autopsy that the full extent of the killer's twisted work becomes clear. Sara's ex-husband, police chief Jeffrey Tolliver, leads the investigation--a trail of terror that grows increasingly macabre when another local woman is found crucified a few days later. But he's got more than a sadistic serial killer on his hands, because the county's only female detective, Lena Adams--the first victim's sister--wants to serve her own justice. Very satisfied! Reliable seller with fair prices. One ordered item turned out to be sold during the process, but was promptly refunded. Other ordered items arrived eralier than estimated. They were neatly packed and in the condition described. Contact with seller prior to the order wasn't possible, but communication afterwards was spotless.

Item is as described in post, great quality, clean, not damaged, great purchase. I'd like to point out that it was also shipped promptly, arrived on time, but the local post office refused to send me any notification of it arriving. Therefore I only got it today, almost a month late. The seller is at no fault, they shipped it on time. So I am highly satisfied with my purchase and the seller, highly recommend them for anyone on Ebay. Great books at great prices, amazing experience.

  • Two Thumbs Up! 5 Stars!

This book was AWESOME. I read it in three days because I couldn't put it down. The author really lets you get to know the characters in the book and tells you background information to help you understand the plot better. I really liked how the mystery started in the first chapter and other mysteries and clues surfaced throughout the book up until the very last chapter. This isn't your typical mystery, as Sara (the main character) is the coroner of the town (she is also a pediatrician) and she tells you about the autopsy and it is in great detail. At times, the gruesome details made me cringe. I am going to read the other books in this series and I am sure that I won't be disappointed!

  • Cover

I had #2 in the series and needed this one first. The cover is not the same as the one advertised. The book is very dusty smelling but it’s down the list to be read so maybe it will air out. Otherwise it’s good and I’m looking forward to reading it.

  • Blindsighted review

I really like this book. I enjoy reading Karin Slaughter's books, because I like the way that she develops the characters in her books. There seems to be a lot of crime in the small town in Grant County, but it does make for an interesting story.
