Nice addition to my electrical charger
This mounted cleanly on my console so that I can plug my battery charger into an extension cord without having to leave the head door open. Near impossible to find a whole saw that is 1 7/8" so I used a 2" hole saw. I will need to put a small screw, washer and nut on the back side of one of the holes. I also don't like having to screw the back of the fitting to hold my cord as it had to be mounted strategically so that I could reach the screws in a tight area. I would rather have had a hinged back on this part so I could easily lock the cord into place and/or remove the cord and charger if I so desired. 5 stars, easy installation, all around good product as you would expect from MK
If you are looking to replace your charging plug port , this is the way to go. My boat had one in it that looked like this one, only it was made by "pro marine". The cover was broken off my old one and in addition, when you would remove the cover, you then had to try to pull the cord out which it would only come out an inch or two. NOT this one. The minn kota mkr-21 mounted in the existing hole, screws aligned with the existing holes and you mount the plug from the charger inside this port and the cord is stationary, no more having to pull the plug out from the port. Simply flip open the cover and plug in your extension cord. I really had a hard time trying to get the deminsions on new minn kota port. Not on there web site and not on the package. You need a 1 7/8 inch hole and the diameter ... If you are looking to replace your charging plug port , this is the way to go. If you need AC power from outside a trailer this is the answer, good quality easy to install and use, I have set up a power strip in my toy hauler it makes it easy to power up battery tenders and other electric devices from the house current or portable generator with a simple extension cord.....
