    Best read in years! Lifechanging book with brainchanging how-to steps.

    I found the title on a scrap of paper I had written to myself and couldn't remember where, when, or why. On a whim I ordered the book and WOW! I have been plugging this book to everyone who will listen to me. It is easy to read - actually compelling once you start - structured throughout into fascinating illustrative case histories. The information in this book has relevance to all of us - not just for ourselves but for our children and grandchildren. One of the best aspects is that the author gives enough information in the book for us to change our own brains and alerts us to be aware of how our children and grandchildren are progressing or what they might need and how to get it if they have problems. There is still hope, even as we age and can't find our keys anymore! Awesome ...

    I would strongly recommend this fascinating book about brain research.

    This book is fascinating. The author writes in understandable prose about ground-breaking research findings about the brain. Sounds dull? For instance, a woman in whom the area that controls physical balance had been destroyed is supplied with a helmet that allows her to know that she is upright and balanced by creating a little fuzzy sense on her tongue. When the fuzzy feeling is centered on her tongue, she's upright. That's interesting enough, but then they discovered that if she wore the helmet for 20 minutes, she could go without it for seven hours and be able to have normal balance. This is incredible -- it's parts of the brain taking over a task that is not their responsibility and at which they should not be able to succeed. It's as stunning as if a person was able to taste a bowl ...

    the details of the placisticity of the brain and techniques for rebuilding the brain functions is amazing. This is a difinitive study or how to repair brain function, not only after stroke but in many other brain deficiency therapy applications. These techniques can enhance brain functionality from congenital deficit to trauma induced damage to the brain.

    A New Look at the Brain

    This is a book about brain plasticity - how the brain changes to accommodate the effects of injury. It replaces the old belief that the brain was rigid in its functions and was unable to cure itself. It is written so that it is clear to people without training in neurology.
