Thanks! Helped a lot of family through a tough time as we lost our dear friend and family member Joe after 16 years! My kids (now grown) found solace in this great book from years back that helped them as kids to cope with the loss of our other Dog friends, and now with the loss of 'lil Joe. My wife and I found our own peace through the words in this book as we know he crossed the Rainbow Bridge and is ...in Dog Heaven!

  • Great gift for families who have lost a dog.

This is one of my favorite kid books of all time, but it also speaks to adults. I give this as a gift to everyone who's dog has just passed away. That can be such a difficult time for a family and there are some really sweet thoughts in the book about what it is like to be in Dog heaven and all the wonderful things that happen there. It says that sometimes the dogs come down from heaven to check on their owners and make sure that everything is ok and may even follow behind the kids to school. Then, they go back up when they know everything is ok. I also love the part that God has a sense of humor and makes dog biscuits in the shape of squirrels and mailmen. You really have to read it to get a sense of the caring and sweet tone of the book. It's so sweet that you'll actually get ...

  • comforting and easy read for children.

My granddaughter is five years old and after 16 years she lost her little Yorky Pooh. It is very sad for the whole family but I believe this book comforted her a little. I’m sure she enjoyed it and her mom and dad were pleased that I sent it to her. Thank you very much

  • Out of Print, but NOT out of Sincerity

I found this book years ago in the kids section of a bookstore. Basically it’s a kids-eye view of what heaven is for a dog, but I found it so touching that it is my #1 gift for friends who are grieving the loss of their dog. This particular book, purchased on EBay, was advertised as used, but it was like new, and much cheaper than I could find anywhere else. It was a great purchase.

  • Loving assurance that our beloveds "cross the Bridge" to God's eternal care

Perhaps the most poignant expression of sympathy one can give to a friend grieving the loss of a special companion: Together with Cat Heaven, these two beautifully illustrated books provide reassuring comfort that our "best friends" do indeed "cross the Bridge" to a better eternity... I have catalogued the passing of innumerable companions on the inside covers, pull these out whenever a bittersweet memory compels tears, and still find comfort in their oft-read pages... and I have sent them to countless family and friends over the years, to ease the grief of their losses, as well as to reassure them that we shall one day be reunited with our precious companions for all eternity.
