Redemption Series is Life Changing Fiction
This series is not only addictively entertaining, it is also very inspiring. The Redemption Series is in Karen Kingsbury's collection of 'Life Changing Fiction' and it lives up to that classification. What I really enjoyed is that this mid-western family is so real. The author is so talented in her approach to the characters that you feel as though you are a member of the family. You rejoice with them, you cry over them and you worry about them, just as you would a family member. The situations and challenges in the family members lives are normal, realistic events. It is a learning experience to see how these characters respond and react to the situations they find themselves in. I have seen parts of myself in many of the characters, and the desire to be like many of these ... This series is not only addictively entertaining, it is also very inspiring. These questions help you to apply the relationship building skills in your own life. As an example: The first book deals with forgiving an unfaithful spouse. I do not have this challenge in my life, but the discussion and questions at the end of the book help you to apply the skill of forgiving those in your life who have betrayed or mistreated their relationship with you, whether it be a family member or friend. It also helped me to see the importance of keeping the lines of communication open with my spouse and to make sure that he has the priority in my life that he should. If you take the time to apply the principles taught in these books, they truly can be live changing. These books are written with a very stong Christian perspective. Great books to start when you have plenty of time (vacation, holiday or long weekend) because once you start the first book, you won't want to stop until you've finished them all.

Wonderul Series of Five
After having read two later books from this author, I knew I had to go back to the begining. The first book of Redemption was so touching I read I give within a week; immediately started and finished the next series of five books, Firstborn within a week. These books are so full of life and situations that could happen in any family and any town. It is amazing to see God's Hand move in a mighty way. Be prepared to become totally entranced and have a box of hankies near by at all times. I've read many books by Christian authors. This series in everday life compares to the Left Behind series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins dealing with prophecy. You will be blessed by reading this and the following series by Karen Kingsbury.After having read two later books from this author, I knew I had to go back to the begining. I was introduced to Karen Kingsbury during a Bible Study at a neighbors house. I could not get enough of her. The series, Redemption, is a wonderful look into the life of the Baxter family. After reading this series, I have read approximately 10 more books by Karen Kingsbury. I thought so much of her books, that I gave my mother the Redemption Series for Christmas this year. I highly recommend these books. I was able to purchase the whole set on Ebay without having to bid or wonder if my books was be in good shape. Don't miss these books. Inspirational Christian novel author
This is the first book in a wonderful series! It is about your average mid-west family and the obstacles that is placed before them in their lives and how as a family they manage to overcome those challenges and focus on their faith and the strength of that. This is a book that you can not put down as you just want to find out what happens to the characters! Karen Kingsbury is a very gifted author and leaves her readers wanting more with each novel she writes. A true inspiration and witness of the power of faith in our lives.This is the first book in a wonderful series! It is about your average mid-west family and the obstacles that is placed before them in their lives and how as a family they manage to overcome those challenges and focus on their faith and the strength of that. Great series of books!
Wanted to reread this series, I read the series years ago and loved it! Now the series is on TV and I binge watched the 1st 3 seasons so I wanted to read the series again!
