Sandstorm; Mastering the Perils of Fire and Sand
Sandstorm is a must-have for any DM who regularly uses deserts or wastes, and wants to improve them. It goes in-depth on normal and magical hazards, from Slumber Sand to deadly Flaywinds, as well as provides a selection of monsters far superior to those here-and-there desert monsters in the Monster Manuals. Sandstorm provides various deities, classes and substitutions, spells, and gear, as well as new player races. A lot of it, however, is not especially useful anywhere outside of the desert, such as the Sandshaper, so it only gets 4 out of 5. I like it, personally, and like to at least have it around when I write up a campaign, just in case.
