À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Kat Ellis's (Debra Messing) worst nightmare is about to come true. Not only is her younger, half-sister, Amy (Amy Adams), getting married before her, but to add insult to injury, the groom's (Jack Davenport) best man is Kat's ex-fiancée, Jeffrey (Jeremy Sheffield). Two years after being dumped, Kat is a single New Yorker and can't bear to attend the festivities at her parent's London home alone, so she does the next best thing: she hires an escort to play her boyfriend. Her rented date, Nick (Dermot Mulroney), fits the bill perfectly. He's handsome, intelligent, well spoken, intuitive, and a perfect gentleman--a virtual bargain at $6,000. The plan? Make Kat's ex sorry that he ever let her go.But the plan takes a turn when Kat finds herself attracted to Nick, and the feeling seems to be mutual. But will their business arrangement stand in the way of a relationship? And just what is it that Kat's ex has been dying to tell her? Messing is endearing as Kat, who seems to be simultaneously bewildered and bemused by her situation. Mulroney, meanwhile, is at his most charming as Nick. Clare Kilner (HOW TO DEAL) directs this romantic comedy set in London and the English countryside, which also features Holland Taylor as Kat's slightly overbearing mother and Peter Egan as her loving stepfather. Sarah Parish is a hoot as the sisters' bawdy British cousin.

  • Wedding Date Delivers!!

Who would have thought that a chick flick could be so good! Debra Messing plays Kat Ellis, who as the older, unmarried sister is dreading going to her younger sister Amy's wedding. So she hires a male escort for the weekend at a cost of $6000 from her 401-K to make everyone jealous, including the groom's best man, who jilted Kat several years ago. It sounds kind of complicated, but Dermot Mulroney as Nick the hired male hooker plays his part to the hilt. As you might guess, Kat eventually falls in love with Nick the escort, but there are all sorts of situations in the way that lead to this decision. He is everything that she wants in an escort: he immediately makes her x-fiance jealous, and all the females at the weekend wedding fall for him. Her father likes him and so does her ...

  • The Wedding Date DVD 2005

Well what can I say, great actors, great story line makes a great movie...Debra Messing ( from Will and Grace) she plays Kat and (Dermot Murloney)plays Nick. Kat has to go home for her sisters wedding, to Kat's ex fiance...What could be worse, oh! No Escort (Date). Kat could not go alone not to the wedding of her ex, and her sister. So she finds in the paper for hire to be her boyfriend and attend the wedding. All the things that could go wrong do, and the laughs continue. This is truely a girly girl movie, in the end girl gets the guy....Well worth the $, if you love the romance in movies...this is one for you, laugh, laugh, laugh....Pop the corn!

  • Very good, and entertaining movie

Bought this movie because I saw the end of it on TV. Loved Dermot Mulroney in it. He stole the show. Was disappointed in Debra Messing because she talked too fast, didn't enunciate her words well and did a lot on undecipherable whispering. I had to turn the sound all the way up and run and rerun parts of it to finally figure out what was being said. The only problem I found with this movie was all the bloopers in it. She goes to the NY Airport wearing a long sleeve dress and coat in August, He gets on the plane wearing a blue shirt and gets off wearing a white shirt and tie. It's obvious this was not a big studio production. But overall it was a really good movie and worth buying. At least they didn't kill Mulroney off in it like they have in most of the other movies he has made.

  • Fun movie - great characters and good love story

Messing's character, Kat, is still grieving over her failed engagement to Jeffrey. She knows that Jeffrey will be the best man at her sister's wedding, so she hires Nick, a professional escort, to go with her as her date. Nick fits in well with everyone of Kat's friends and family and soon the 'sparks' are flying between Nick and Kat. Nick is there when Kat learns why her engagement failed and through a serious misunderstanding, they nearly separate permanently. Thru some good advise from Kat's dad she discovers what she really wants is Nick. The story line moves well and the romance aspect of the movie is fun.

  • Great actors but still a disappointing story

I was very surprised and disappointed with this movie. I was expecting a good chick-flick. But in my opinion The Wedding Date didn't even compare to most decent feel good movies. The lead actors are GREAT as always. But the characters and the writing they had to work from was often corny and to be honest sometimes annoying. Good movies usually cause you to care about the characters and become invested enough in their fictional lives that you want to see how the story ends. But unfortunately, this film goes back and forth so many times that the characters are very confusing. Debra Messing is a great leading lady. But the way the film was written made it so half the time you didn't even like her character. Which would be fine if you had another good character to balance that out. ...
