Shaun White Snowboarding (Target Edition) PS3
I was really excited to check this game out since there hasn't been a great snowboarding game in quite some time. The previews and gameplay videos I saw all looked great so I decided to buy it. The look of the game is great. Menu system is pretty cool. In-game graphics are excellent. The terrain is expansive and very nicely detailed. Parks are fun and vary quite a bit with the types of rails, kickers, etc. I personally love to freeride, so they ability to take the chopper above tree-line on a couple of the mountains is definitely a lot of fun. There is a lot to do on these mountains, from treasure hunts (the coins), to competitions, riding with online players, etc. I don't think you could get too bored from this game. Music choice is very good, several different styles to please all. You also have a great gear selection to choose from, so save money for new boards or bindings. The big problem I see here is getting used to the physics. The rider feels like he's 50 pounds sometimes, 350 pounds some other. Carving, tricks, jumps, all take time to get used to. I still can't seem to pull off tricks that I figured would be easy, but I guess it will take more practice. Other strange cases that I've found: I'm on a pretty decent down slope but the rider is really slow, and another when I can't build enough speed to make some jumps. At first it had me really frustrated, but I'm getting more used to it. With excellent graphics and gameplay, but frustrating physics, this game takes some time to really start to enjoy. The more I play, the more I like it.

I have read many reviews on this game and believe that many of them are slightly off the mark. This is a pretty good game and I believe the only reason it gets bad ratings are the controls, they just take a while to get used to. After that its pretty awesome, with the open world and the huge mountains, I'm a big fan. I though nothing would top the good old Coolboarders 3, SSX, or 1080, but this one is up there and I mean if you are really on the fence just think...this is the only snowboarding game on a next gen system (at least for ps3 anyway) so you might as well pick it up, and these days its like 15 bucks so you have no excuse.I have read many reviews on this game and believe that many of them are slightly off the mark. Not so good i think
I've been waiting for the next great snowboarding game for a long time and seemingly Shaun White Snowboarding was being heralded as the "premiere snowboarding game" of this generation.....and sadly, it missed the mark in several areas. For one, the graphics engine runs of the same one used for Assassins Creed....which is adequate enough and it uses it nicely but its simply not THAT impressive. the character models, mountains, and structures look nice but lack a certain detail to really make them "stand out" and it gives the game a rather vanilla look but luckily the framerate is fairly smooth.I've been waiting for the next great snowboarding game for a long time and seemingly Shaun White Snowboarding was being heralded as the "premiere snowboarding game" of this generation.....and sadly, it missed the mark in several areas. BEST SNOWBOARDING GAME EVER!
Snowboarding used to be all the rage in video games. Cool Boarders on the original PlayStation and 1080 on the N64 were both must own titles for their respective platforms, and later SSX proved that people couldn't get enough of insane jumps and ridiculous tricks. Then, along came Amped to show that a sim approach could work and the third game in the series made for a solid Xbox 360 launch title. Now a good few years into this console generation, with developers getting to grips with the power at their disposal, a snowboarding game should offer the very best kind of extreme sports entertainment. Ubisoft Montreal's Shaun White tries hard but in the end falls foul of a few rather unfortunate design decisions. Although Shaun White's Snowboarding attempts to offer something in the way of a ... Instead of giving you events in traditional video game fashion, this is more or less the GTA of the snowboarding genre, with each mountain free to explore, and events accessed by boarding up to them. With plenty of events to tackle, and coins to collect that unlock new moves, the set-up is great..The graphics are TOP NOTCH. THIS IS A MUST BUY GAME OVERALL 9/10 I WAS A BIG SSX FAN AND THIS GAME IS JUST AS GOOD (YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPONTED!)

The only snowboarding game for the PS3
Hmmmm, what can I say about this game? It's an average game, its neither bad nor good, its just average. It's the only snowboarding game for the PS3, well, as of May 2011. Basically, if your into snowboarding or sporting games in general, you'll like this game. But, if you have an unexplainable hate towards sporting games, don't buy, I wouldn't recommend it for you haters.
