Great ,smooth flangeing
This flanger is one of the only ones I have heard that does not sound metallic. It's very smooth and thick sounding. I will say that it doesn't sound any different than the standard grey mxr flanger and is a lot higher in price for only a paint job and an extra button that you can obtain the same sound by turning the knobs. If your totally into EVH, that may justify the extra cost for you, but either flanger sounds just as good. MxrDunlop stuff is built like a tank, and I've never had any issues in over 20 years of using their products. It would be nice if they included the adapter with it since it requires 18v though. I've owned an original mxr flager with the hardwired cord, this flanger has the same great sound, only a LOT less noise.This flanger is one of the only ones I have heard that does not sound metallic. For the price and getting it used from a Pawn Shop, it works phenomenally, came with the box and ALL the paperwork, the rubber knobs, the works, exactly as pictured. Just thrilled with it, its like new. Paid on a Friday, shipped on a Monday, delivered on Wednesday. Reviews abound on this, a flanger modulates the sound - the sounds of Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Yes are all easily achieved with this pedal and just about any amp you choose. I FREAKING LOVE THIS PEDAL!!!!!!
Not going to lie guys, I find that I use the EVH button more often than any other time I use it, though if you get the setting just right, it is almost something you can use all the time. The options in this are great, you have manual, width, speed, and regeneration. All of which sound great when adjusted. My favorite feature as I said before is the EVH button. I am playing through a Epiphone Custom Signature Bjorn Gelotte Les Paul with active 81/85 EMG's Zakk Wylde Crybaby Wah Boss Metal Core ML-2 Boss Distortion DS-1 Boss Chorus Ensemble CE-5 MXR Phase 90 MXR Carbon Copy Delay TC Electronic Hall of Fame Reverb MXR EVH Flanger MXR Dyna Comp TC Electronic Ditto Looper TC Electronic polytune 2 Marshall DSL40CR. *Photo is older, by a few weeks, and does not have a ... Awesome sound, easy to use.
Great pedal, EVH signatures sound. Only complain, the 18v adapter it`s not include. Not only for EVH fans, this is a really versatile flanger, for clean o dirty riff or solos. I had a couple flangers, a boss, ibanez, the micro flanger mxr includin, but this really beatthem all. Recommended.
