Product Information

Electronic Arts makes an offer it hopes fans of Mafioso mythology cannot refuse, in this video game translation of the award-winning 1972 Francis Ford Coppola film. Players take the role of a small-time thug, newly inducted into the Corleone family and looking to make it big. By running missions for the family in the game's rendition of 1940s New York City, players can earn the respect of the family and be promoted to positions of power and influence in the organization. The game is designed to track the player's decisions and interactions throughout the criminal career, such that NPCs will remember how they were treated in the past and react appropriately in future dealings. In order to encourage players to truly take on the role of their own Corleone henchman, Electronic Arts' The Godfather offers a "MobFace" custom character creator which allows for adjustment of physique, facial features, and attire. All other major characters featured in the game are voiced by the actors who played them in the movie, including Marlon Brando (posthumously) as Don Vito Corleone, James Caan as Sonny Corleone, and Robert Duvall as consigliore Tom Hagen.

    A good Mafia game.

    This game is one of the best Mafia games I ever played, very much like the game by the name "Mafia". This one however have several differences of its own. The Godfather lets you create your own character and has what is like some level based system where it lets you improve it too. The controls are nifty, giving you wide control of what kind of punches to land, or where to shoot. The storyline is very interesting and have several aditions to what is found in the movies. This coupled with freestyle driving gives you a sense of going anywhere you want. However, the game lacks in several areas. The cars are not that varied, so you get stuck with seeing the same models over and over again. Also the cars dont get dented much and there is little to none enviromental damage in the game.     Slow to start but good experience!

    This game is very buggy and slow to start, but once it gets going, you want to play more. Having family that works for EA games, I know how buggy their games are before a patch is released. The story and voice acting in this game is a 5/5! The controls leave a little to be desired as far as the lack of strafe control. The auto aim is both a curse and an aid, depending on the situation, you will find yourself blasting innocents occasionally. The execution style moves are great, like having mortal combat finishing moves! Make absolutely sure when you install that you have the latest video drivers and sound drivers or it will crash to the desktop everytime. Also make sure you have vsync turned off and blittering on Nvidia cards on or you will get artifacts in the game. Enjoy!

    couple of ideas for better gaming

    look the game is great. not what i expect but i liked it. if ur the type of person who LOVES the godfather. TAKE IT. its a looooooooooooooooooooooooong game. u finish ur missions but u dont finish the game. u become the DON but not the DON of NY. if u now what i mean. i have couple of ideas for the game to be changed like the location of the big map, the game stratigic, and other stuff. but after all, i will recomened it.

    Old game New glory

    I just love the Godfather on PS3 so I decided to get it for PC for old times sake. Was disappointed brings back a lot of memories. If you love the godfather movie. You'll love this game believe me.

    Great game at a great value!

    Great classic game! Love playing this when I get nostalgic. You have to change the movie file to have an "_" in front of it for the game to run on newer versions of windows though so be aware of this.
