Fight Night: Round 3 makes its PlayStation 3 debut with a new graphics engine that allows players to gauge their rival's health and energy simply by watching his dynamic facial expressions and body cues. The analog punch system from the 2005 version has returned with new punch types, each of which can shift a fight's momentum if landed correctly. The haymaker punch is now harder to connect, but it is also more powerful. The new flash KO punch can overpower a boxer in one hit, putting him in the dangerous position of being knocked out, while the stun punch switches the default third-person view to a first-person perspective as players attempt to finish off their stunned opponent with a devastating blow. While these impact punches can change the course of a fight within a few seconds, they are considered high-risk swings that can leave a boxer vulnerable to counter moves.<br><br>The career mode from the series has undergone a few changes to offer a more personal approach to a boxer's legacy. Rivalries will now be created from key match-ups, flamboyant claims at press conferences, and clashes during weigh-ins, allowing players to square off against their heated rivals in multiple rematches for fame, money, and respect. Players are also free to re-create some of the sport's greatest bouts with the included roster of legends from different eras and weight classes, whether it's Ali versus Frazier, Leonard versus Hagler, or Gatti versus Ward. As an added bonus, the game features ESPN Classic footage of the real-life fights that helped shape the sport. All of the featured play modes from 2005's game have made the transition to Round 3, although the create boxer option now lets players choose from multiple styles in footwork, punching, and blocking for greater customization. Online support is also included for head-to-head matches against players from around the world.<br><br>Unique to the PS3 is the "Get in the Ring" mode where boxers go head-to-head in a split-screen first-person point of view. Playing through the eyes of a fighter, punches will have more affect and if players are hit in the eye, a temporary flash of light will fill the screen, simulating impact. Toward the end of the fight, if a character has taken numerous hits to the eye, a gamer's field of vision could be hazy in that area or fade out completely.

Pros: Great Graphics and real time worked great in this title. You can really see the emotions of the fighters. More realistic than any boxing game. Great how you only have to use the cutman on 2 sides of the face and not 4 like you had to in previous fight nights. Cons: Didnt use all of the PS3 potential. Poor Get in the Ring mode as it is very unrealistic. I played as Frazier and a featherweight knocked me out. Also very hard to learn how to play. Career very unrealistic. Overall: Good graphics. But EA SPORTS has to really use the whole of the PS3 Potential! BUYING GUIDE: DO NOT PURCHASE PAL VERSION AS THEY ARE REGION FREE AND PAL VERSION IS NOT. Fun unique fighting game that everyone should check out
Fight Night Round 3 for Playstation 3 is an incredible game. For those of you who haven't played any of the previous fight nights - this is very unique fighting series, in which players use the joysticks instead of buttons to fight. If you move the stick in a long complete motion - your boxer will throw a long heavy punch. Likewise, if you were to move the joystick in short quick motions - your boxer will throw quick and fast jabs. If you move the joystick in a hook towards the left, your player will hook with his left fist. There are many places and ways to hit your opponent - you will have to decide what fits your style best. The unique playing style mentioned above brings a lot of fun to the game. Players can no longer button mash their way to victory. Instead, players have to use real ... Instead, players have to use real boxing tactics and become experts with reaction and timing - such as learning to block, parry, or dodge punches to make openings for a counter punch. This game is incredibly fun, and has a lot of replay value. The graphics for this game are incredible. Although the game is still a port over from other systems, and doesn't take full advantage of the ps3 - the game still looks incredibly realistic. Minor improvements in details, such as sweat (yes, your boxer will get tired during your fights) have been added from the xbox360 version. The details combined with the fluid realistic motions of the boxers makes the gameplay almost seem like a real live boxing match. The only reason why I will wait before I give this game a full rating is that there are minor areas in game that could be improved (a little fine tuning if you will). Although the selection of boxers is large, I feel it could be larger. A few famous boxers like Mike Tyson are missing from the game - but it should be noted, that you are able to create your own boxers (with a LOT of customization - you can almost every single detail one can think of on the face of a boxer, including the positioning of the eyes, the shape of the eyes, nose and mouth, etc.). Online gameplay for the ps3 could be a little bit more reliable - there still seems to be users on dial-up lagging up some matches. And there should be more actions for the cutman of the boxer (at the moment, you are only able to fix cuts and swelling of the eyes).

Great game!!
I am a big boxing fan and this game made my day. I have been playing the playstation 4 for about 3 years and had to go back to my playstation 3 just to play fight night. I love this game from the graphics to the game play.

Fight night round 3, like all games, have pros and cons. Like most of time, pros are always gonna appear early. Especialy those who love boxing, this is a great game to buy, you can learn a lot more to boxing and love the game more.One con i can state is that you cant sell youre item once bought to earn extra bucks for better equipment. Also,be prepared of getting bored.IT WILL COME TO YOU,especially when you do stuff over and over again.. BUT overall..great game and ill sure get the sequel..Fight night round 3, like all games, have pros and cons. Like most of time, pros are always gonna appear early. The graphics are great, and so are the actions and re-actions. The things I don't like are: how slow it is to load in between every selected screen, and that there is and easy to repeat one punch daze to knockout punch {The (R) controlled Haymaker head shot.} This punch can be done to any opponent, no matter the size, weight, or power (Featherweight against top notch Heavyweight, knocked down the on the first punch of the fight, to be again knocked out again to end the fight. In boxing there is a one punch daze or knockout punch, just not every and any time you want. I hope Round 4 will change this part.The graphics are great, and so are the actions and re-actions.
